Tell me about your workday.
As an Assistant Program Engineering Manager, I spend my day talking about new projects that our customers need assistance with. I have a different project or activity to focus on every 30 minutes or so. The constant change and quick pace keeps me excited about the work!
What’s been my most exciting project to date?
Developing the brake pedal feel for a future program. I prototyped changes in the brake system to achieve a brake pedal feel that was responsive and would make customers feel secure. It was great to put myself in customers’ shoes and figure out how to improve their sense of safety.
How has General Motors allowed me to be more than an Engineer?
General Motors has allowed me to be more than an engineer who is a citizen of Michigan. It introduced me to a non-profit that has changed my life—FIRST Robotics. I am helping the Detroit community by teaching and empowering its next generation of leaders. There’s no greater feeling than giving back and knowing that you’re making a positive impact in someone’s life.
