The Role
As Sr. Manager, Embedded Software and Systems, you will build and lead the team developing embedded software for current and future generations of the BrightDrop EP1 (all-electric pallet). Along with the team you will lead and build, you will help drive key decisions on architecture, approach and execution that empower a suite of products that are smarter, more capable and highly robust in order to meet the efficiency needs of our last-mile e-commerce customers.
You will lead engineering development of an embedded platform that spans IoT, machine learning, controls, calibration, secure mobile access, propulsion, battery management and safety factors, leading team members specializing across these domains. You and your team will collaborate closely with your peers in hardware design and architecture to optimize our EP1 platform strategy and execution.
Our ideal candidate is both a strategic leader who can design robust architecture and a strong people leader who can ramp up and manage a high-performance team whose deliverables are key to our success and differentiation.

Lead key architectural decisions in collaboration with hardware, software and product teams that optimize for key business goals and roadmap deliverables.

Manage day-to-day and sprint-to-sprint performance and execution of your team.

Additional Description
Qualifications:
-
10+ years of embedded software/firmware development experience
-
5+ years of technical leadership and management experience
-
Experience building applications that interface with mono and stereo vision cameras, sensors and radars
-
Experience building on NVidia Jetson or Qualcomm Variant compute units
-
Advanced working knowledge of RTOS ( Linux, FreeRTOS, etc.)

Experience leading a team of embedded application and firmware engineers

Experience optimizing software on both limited and large compute

Experience with calibration and device drivers

Consistent record of delivering high quality software on time in a faced paced environment

The expected base compensation for this role is: (167,040 - 255,845 USD Annual). Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
