As a Process Engineer you will be supporting production operations in General Assembly. A Process Engineer works independently and with a team to support ongoing production, continuous improvement projects and assisting trades on repairs to equipment. Skilled in equipment/tooling alternatives, sequence and flow of operations for the effective utilization of personnel, material, machines and facilities necessary for the production. The Process Engineer must be able to seek challenges with occasional guidance from supervision and is willing to learn equipment and processes. Looking for a candidate that is actively engaged in learning, problem solving and collaborates with others.
Responsible for supporting activities that may include:
- Continuous improvement opportunities to improve safety, quality, throughput, and cost.
- Problem solving
- SORs and project management for tools, stations or specific technologies.
- Sequence of operations
- Design, construction, integration, plant installation, successful launch and continuous improvement of equipment and tools required in plants to produce high-quality parts
- Proposing, requesting funding, and integrating projects.
- Providing technical direction to and oversight of internal resources and external vendor resources
- Supporting improvements through TIP (Throughput Improvement Process), ensuring high-yield and productivity
- Supporting Business Plan Deployment (BPD) teams and coordinating engineering activities to achieve Business Plan objectives
- Collaborating effectively with a talented team
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience
