GM Energy is building a for Sales Team to drive bookings and revenue, profitability and growth targets for the entire Energy Assets portfolio. 

Summary of Responsibilities

You will examine current technical sales strategies and develop and implement new strategies to improve upon current results and/or to meet new goals. You will be responsible for developing relationships & partnerships for commercial financing, installation, commissioning & permitting processes. As well as responsible for aligning team & leadership on new strategies and helping to deliver customer & leadership presentations.
 

Dimension of the Role:
The Technical Sales Specialist will be technical support and 1st level contact for sales for technical or contract related questions. The successful candidate will ideally have experience with commercial technical sales or sales engineering. Works closely with Product Owner(s) to define the best commercial approach across relevant markets and business segments. The Specialist will help to qualify leads, scope opportunities and develop quotes, as well as vet sales/technical partnerships (e.g. financiers, EPCs & suppliers).


Key Responsibilities

  • Project design & proposal support

  • Development of technical sales documentation

  • Product launch and go-to-market support

  • Hands-on technical with system design, installation and commissioning of solar & storage systems

  • Define, clarify and optimize technical terms within the contract negotiation in alignment with sales

  • Working with sales reps to visit customers and conduct presentations

  • Provide continuous feedback to product & engineering teams to drive product enhancements

Qualifications – Technical Specialists 

  • Installation/Commissioning experience is a major plus 

  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision 

  • Excellent writing & presentation skills, communicating effectively with others in different time zones and of different backgrounds  

  • Excellent technical aptitude and ability to quickly learn detailed information about the existing product portfolio and to communicate and answer technical and product related questions and topics 

  • Understanding and application of financial product calculation - product cost and product sales price definition, analysis and recommendation 

  • Travel required. Must be able to travel up to 33% within the United States and Canada 

  • Ability to work in a high-pressure, deadline-oriented environment 

  • Ability to influence and gain buy-in from skeptics 

  • Experience in Energy industry is a plus 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

COMPENSATION : The median level of salary compensation for this role is $102,111.

BONUS POTENTIAL : An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
