Our GM Europe Customer Experience & Connectivity Team is seeking a  Sr UX Designer/CX Design Group Lead – Europe  to serve a design thought leader in the execution of D2C experiences across a range of channels and will work with the CX Design Group Head directly.  Our studio creates customer-facing digital experiences across multiple brands and platforms, touching millions of lives across retail, in-vehicle, web, mobile, and wearable interfaces.

About the Role:

Design and user experience (UX) are at the forefront of everything we do. The job of an Interaction Designer is to envision how people experience our products and bring that vision to life in a way that feels inspired, refined and even magical. In an Interaction Designer role, you’ll take on complex tasks and transform them into intuitive, accessible and easy-to-use designs for millions of people around the world—from the first-time user to the sophisticated expert. Achieving this goal requires collaboration with teams of Designers, Researchers, Engineers and Product Managers throughout the design process—from creating user flows and wireframes to building user interface mockups and prototypes. At each stage, you will anticipate what our users need, advocate for them and ensure that the final product surprises and delights them.

As an UX Interaction Designer, you will make a positive impact on the lives of users. You'll work on a collaborative team focusing on making things user friendly and transparent for all. In this role, you'll be part of a cross functional team, building innovative products using your mix of interaction design and visual design skills.

User experience is at the forefront of how we create intuitive, innovative, and beautiful products that people rely on and love. We strive to learn and understand our users’ needs, behaviors, and emotions to gather insights that inform product strategy and design. Our CX teams include designers, researchers, strategists, project managers, product development and engineers who are passionate about quality, usability, and simplicity. We work on collaborative teams to solve complex challenges and craft experiences that highlight our products’ unique capabilities and personalities across all the European region. Our work touches millions while exemplifying a key principle that is core to GM’s philosophy: The user is center to everything we do.

Responsibilities:  

  • Partner closely with cross functional members to define user needs, opportunity space, and product requirements.
  • Define design direction in close collaboration with other Designers, Researchers, Writer to define approach, tone, personality, ease of use, end-to-end flows.
  • Deliver detailed design flows and specifications, ensure product excellence throughout product development and implementation process.
  • Build strong relationships with cross functional stakeholders to drive user focus, creativity, efficiency, and product excellence.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Preferred bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, Interaction or similar area, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of relevant work experience within UX, HCI, applied research setting, and/or product research and development.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working with early stage efforts, dealing with ambiguity and driving projects forward
  • Strong collaboration skills with other UXers, UI designers, Strategy, Project Management, Engineering, Marketing, Legal.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, ability to listen, be proactive at addressing feedback, represent and advocate for UX and users.
  • Excellent interaction and visual design skills and a solid portfolio of interactive projects

Candidates must be eligible to work within Switzerland without restriction. We are not able to provide an EU work permit.
