This hybrid position is a phenomenal opportunity for an energetic, dynamic, and career driven individual interested in working on a growing subscription business within GM Canada - OnStar Canada! The OnStar team are looking for support to drive the fast paced subscription growth in Canada. This role would be collaborating with the marketing and communications department on subscription-based communications (in-vehicle security, emergency services, turn-by-turn navigation, and remote diagnostics systems). Reporting to the Sales & Marketing - Acquisition Manager, you will work collaboratively with the marketing, product, and communication teams supporting the execution of customer acquisition plans, strengthening our market presence and driving financial performance - delivering true business impact!

GM is looking for an individual that is looking to help get results and help us implement strategies for the OnStar business. We are looking for a student who has a curiousity about learning performance marketing, and building plans to drive consumer awareness and lead generation, using all available resources, and analytics. The role will support the development and execution of tactics to finding and retaining new audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Growing the subscription OnStar business - contribute to the creation of new and innovative acquisition plans for new products (ex. OnStar Guardian, OnStar Guardian Motorcycle)

  • Develop new, innovate go to market ideas, and a 23CY OnStar Guardian acquisition calendar

  • Support and new existing marketing programs/promotion

  • Great teammate to work alongside with key partners in the Marketing, Product, and Communication teams

  • Conduct competitive research and develop product comparisons to help identify competitive advantages, and opportunities

  • Support approval process by developing presentations, and required logistics to launch campaigns

  • Work collaboratively with US colleagues to share and discuss standard methodologies and ideas

  • Responsible for delivering insightful research, analysis, and report out on campaign results


  • Pursuit of a Bachelor's (3rd or 4th year) or Master's degree in the following areas: Business/Commerce (Marketing major preferred)

  • Eligible to work fulltime, 40 hours per week in Canada for 8 or 12-month term starting January 2023

  • Comfortable using data to support decisions and make informed recommendations

  • Successful candidates will be required to attest to their vaccination status (or indicating that they do not wish to disclose), and any job offer will be conditional on the candidate providing that attestation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous related sales and marketing work experience, or Co Op terms

  • Previous experience in automotive, or a strong curiosity about the industry

  • Experience in PowerBI, Microsoft Excel, understanding of data mining, and interpreting reports

  • Outstanding leadership, interpersonal, and relationship management skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with varying levels of the organization

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distill complex subjects to a wider audience

  • High level of integrity, ability to deal with ambiguity, takes initiative/self-directed

  • Evidence of strong character with integrity, honesty, accountability and trust

  • Consistently demonstrates innovative thinking that is customer-centric

  • Excellent project management skills and the proven track record to manage numerous projects at any given

  • Possess strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills

  • Fundamental digital literacy including understanding of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
