Systems Administrator Lead

This role is for a Group Lead of 5 IT professionals to manage and direct all Manufacturing IT Launch and Deployment services to business .

You will need to have proven experience in the following:

  • Full lifecycle application development using standard design patterns/frameworks
  • Must have experience as part of a software project delivery effort
  • Demonstrate mastery of several programming languages, tools and/or technologies
  • Assists with Performance tuning, usability assessment/improvement
  • Proactively engage in the identification / remediation of software issues such as code quality, pattern mismatch, and security issues related to the code or solution/configuration
  • Integrate software with existing software/systems
  • Demonstrated ability in Linux/Window Server OS administration is a plus D
  • Demonstrated ability in understanding PLC programming (RSLogix, STEP7, GX, etc.) is a plus-
  • Knowledge of maintaining and debugging live software applications
  • Documenting software solutions and ensure that technical documentation meets GM standards
  • Understand and maintain compliance with GM standards and industry standard methodology

Additional Description

  • Lead a team, responsible for staffing, mentoring, training and team development
  • Develop a culture of learning and growth mindset with a highly inclusive management style
  • Understanding of business processes in Vehicle Assembly Plant, Powertrain Plant and Battery Plant
  • Understand IT Global Launch Process, and follow the process in deployment, including leading the team to :-
  • Install and configure systems
    • Support SAT and UAT
    • Conduct user training
    • Preparation of project deliverables
    • Transition to operation.
    • Work in cross functional teams with extended team members in other parts of GM International and/or North America.    
    • Manage business and IT expectations according to project scope and schedule
    • Address issues in a timely manner, and drive necessary discussions and escalations
    • Work closely with senior developers, software engineers and/or data scientist to gain additional knowledge and expertise.
    • Support Business Facing Team for business requirement background study
    • Support Global Operation Team for incident resolving and ongoing support request
  • Position could encompass 50% travel

         Experience/Education:

  • BS/MS in Engineering, or Computer Science, Information System or related
  • Strong experience (5+ years) managing a technical team for staffing, mentoring, training and team development
