In this role, you would work with the Virtual Engineering and Data Management EGM and must have the ability to work collaboratively on multi-functional Teams across the GM Enterprise to establish the best GPS-ME Design-to-Manufacturing processes and practices, train resources and drive efficiencies. Strong interpersonal skills will be needed as a results-oriented candidate will be encouraged to work with Information Technology, Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and Maintenance Resources regularly.

You would be responsible for developing and/or improving upon Standardized Process using various Math Based Tools to drive efficiencies into all Phases of the Equipment Sourcing and Project Execution Process.

This "individual contributor / technical expert" level process engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing Virtual Engineering Processes.

Work is performed in a centralized manufacturing engineering environment where a considerable amount of creativity and initiative is exercised. A high level of independent judgment may be exercised; however, work is conducted within a team of several subject matter experts.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support GPS Central Lead MEs, ensuring consistency in Math Based Tools Project implementation activities across the multiple Propulsion Programs
  • Candidates should have working Level Knowledge of:
  • Crafting/Validating business-process oriented training content for software
  • NX Modeling Experience preferably 11
  • NXCAM or equivalent CAM Software
  • PLM/Product Change Management/Product Bill of Material
  • Machine Design
  • SOR / Specifications
  • Machine Runoff Requirements
  • GD&T
  • QDAS/CMM Reporting
  • PFMEA / Control Plan
  • Liaison between CME and Third-Party Engineering Resources
  • Evaluation and estimation of Product Design changes impacting Machining and Assembly Areas
  • Support Design, Construction, Installation, Qualification and Launch of Equipment required in Plant
  • Support and carry out the product and equipment requirements within BOP & BOE
  • “Launch Deliverables” closure for Machining/Assembly System(s) per SPQRC commitments defined in the MTS.
  • Lead other ME’s with or without direct reporting relationship.
  • Some Domestic and International Travel Required

Additional responsibility for supporting activities may include:

  • SORs and project management for tools, stations or specific technologies.
  • Typically part of a larger effort or project
  • Manufacturing process definition
  • Sequence of operations
  • Human factors consideration
  • Efficient material flow
  • Design, construction, integration, plant installation, successful launch and continuous improvement of equipment and tools required in plants for the production of high quality parts
  • Providing technical direction to and oversight of outside vendor sources

Work may involve development and testing of sophisticated process technology.

This position is not eligible for ISP, ITAP, or localizations.

Additional Description

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in engineering or equivalent
  • 3+ Years' Experience in Manufacturing
  • Practical use of PLM and CAD Systems
  • Project Execution Experience Preferred
  • CAM Experience Preferred
