This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively.  The employee’s role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired.  Relocation may be provided. This position requires employee to be onsite 1-3x per week.

About the role

The Cloud Cybersecurity Technical Fellow will lead the design and architecture of secure multi cloud and hybrid environments for GM. This role will be responsible for designing secure architectures, identifying cloud security solutions, as well as defining security standards and technology direction that enables the secure deployment of business systems and applications in public cloud and hybrid environments. The Cloud Security Fellow will be the key deep technical resource that earns the trust of stakeholders, identifies automation technologies, develops reference architectures, and white papers to help our partners deploy cloud and hybrid applications in a secure manner.

Major Duties/Responsibilities

  • Define the vision and architecture strategy that enables the secure deployment of business systems and applications in public cloud and hybrid environments

  • Act as a coach and mentor to team members, sharing knowledge associated with tools and practices utilized for risk identification, prioritization, mitigation and control implementation

  • Design and implement Secure IaaS, PaaS, SaaS Solutions (covering Identity, Networking, detection, Storage, Containers) in a hybrid cloud environment

  • Lead the definition and implementation of cloud security technology direction, standards, and policy across GM business units or multi-functional IT organizations

  • Promote CI/CD methodologies throughout the development lifecycle utilizing various tools and integration of security best practices into development and deployment pipelines

  • Act as the key technical cloud security resource help our partners deploy cloud and hybrid applications in a secure manner

Additional Description

Required Qualifications  

  • 7+ years of increasing responsibility in architecting, securing, and delivering cloud applications and solutions within AWS, Azure and GCP Cloud platforms

  • 10+ Years of experience in cybersecurity, security architecture, or application security

  • Bachelor of science degree or equivalent experience

  • Advanced hands-on security engineering experience in the development, deployment and sustainment of AWS, Azure, or GCP Cloud Platforms

  • Experience in technology automation, implementation, integration, and/or deployment

  • Strong scripting skills, i.e., PowerShell, Python, Node.js, JavaScript, Bash, Ruby, Perl, etc.

  • Technical expertise (design and/or implementation) in Cloud Computing technologies

  • Implementation experience with enterprise security solutions such as WAF, IPS, Anti-DDOS, and SIEM

  • Experience building enterprise security strategy for cloud adoption

  • Hands-on technical expertise in building security capabilities in code and deploying infrastructure in code

  • Working knowledge of Application Security, Vulnerability Management, Identity and Access management, Network Security and Secure Architectures

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Outstanding collaboration, team, and interpersonal skills.

  • Work independently and manage workload with organization to meet expectations and objectives

  • Absorb, retain and organize information gathered from multiple sources and in a variety of formats

The median level of salary compensation for this role is ($162,180 - $205,284)
