Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively.  The employee’s role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired. This position requires an employee to be onsite 1-3 times per week in the Southeast Regional Office in Alpharetta, GA. This position must reside in the Atlanta, GA area. Relocation may be provided.

The GMC Field Marketing Manager will have direct field responsibility and ownership of product related activities for the Southeast Region and Southeast Region Zone Teams in support of the Regional Dealer Network.

These responsibilities include product training, developing, and implementing product ordering strategy and processes, key interface between the region and national retail and product marketing teams, individual brand market assessment which includes sales, share and inventory analysis, regional brand promotion activity strategy champion, and handling of multiple product related field, dealer, and customer concerns.

The GMC Field Marketing Manager requires strong relationship building skills and a detailed knowledge of the field structure as this position must anticipate product related opportunities with the zone teams, lead the zone teams to maximize those opportunities, and identify zone developmental needs and develop and implement strategies to meet those needs.  

This position requires a strong focus on achieving regional performance requirements, initiating, developing, and executing processes and training to improve regional team annual performance (CAP) and Field Performance Report (FPR).  Strong analytical skills are also required as this position supports the Regional Director by development of brand dash boards and other sales analysis tools designed to help determine regional monthly incentive strategies, regional media budget decisions, and development of the annual regional marketing plan.  Must be capable of making large group presentations. 

Candidate must be a highly motivated self-starter that demonstrates all General Motors cultural behaviors.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
  • Dealer contact experience preferred
  • Highly developed oral & written communication skills.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others both within & outside the organization.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
  • Excellent organizing & planning skills to coordinate multiple simultaneous tasks.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively.
  • Extensive knowledge of organizational field structure & GM systems.
  • Willingness to travel extensively.
  • Product walk around and product specialist experience
  • Valid driver’s license.
