Develop 50/50 sales forecasts and ranges for GM vehicles and reach consensus with key stakeholders on Target Volumes.
Document and create transparency surrounding forecast assumptions, including rationale for difference between the 50/50 forecast and the established Target Volume.
Ensure sales planning volumes are available in advance of key GVDP gates.
Coordinate sales volume deliverables cross-functionally with Global Forecast Integration, Portfolio Planning, Finance, VSSM and Market Operations.

Additional Description

LT forecasting analyst is part of Global LT Forecasting, and the key pillar of Portfolio Planning team.  LT Forecasting analysis focuses on providing data centric recommendation for future business opportunities based on nuanced data analytics. 

  • Data analytics and industry trends quantification 
  • Auto industry dynamic and segmentation analysis based on macro/ micro economics, industry supply/demand data and demographic indicators. 
  • Quantification of NEV penetration and long-term forecasting model calibration
  • Develop progressive analytical methodologies and visual tools to optimize process efficiencies
  • Effectively communicate (both verbal / written) with Global LT Forecasting and JV partners on forecasting methodologies / rationales
  • Vehicle volume forecast to support GVDP, Business Plan and business opportunity evaluation
  • Independent assessment of future product / initiative volume opportunities; Comprehend competition, segment trends and customer voice into forecast upside and risk factors
  • Support portfolio sufficiency assessment and scenario analysis
  • Develop high quality forecast with logical multi-method based rationales and succinct best estimation recommendation to support program gate review
  • Support strategic discussion and leadership review materials
    • GM Business Plan LT volume review with GM senior leadership
    • Program gate review material coordination and review with China leadership

Qualifications:

  • Major in automobile related, economics, business, statistics, mathematics, Master degree preferred
  • Excellent at data analytical skills and be able to interpret data insights independently
  • Proficient at MS excel, power point, Tableau, knowledge of sawtooth and python is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Chinese including writing, listening and speaking
  • Relevant working experiences in market analysis, especially in the auto industry, are preferred
