  • Responsible for preparing a monthly and quarterly close process including journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analytics, etc.
  • Collaborates with business units, other Controller’s Staff groups, and third parties to compile information to support development of accounting activities
  • Review submissions from various teams responsible for initial drafts and ensure timely submissions in accordance with deadlines. Gather and evaluate submissions from process owners for inclusion in SEC disclosures
  • Assist in developing and maintaining desk procedures for accounting processes
  • Ensure appropriate financial controls are implement/maintained and GM policies are being followed
  • Evaluate current developments and trends in areas of expertise, and actively identifies new areas for learning and takes advantage of learning opportunities
  • Participate in SOX compliance, Audits (internal & external) and resolution of any matters
  • Write reports and summaries of findings in a clear and concise fashion
  • Develop and present data to other members of the organization
  • Evaluate current accounting practices and policies and drive continuous improvement and modernization initiatives
  • Ensure appropriate internal controls are maintained and GM policies are being followed
  • Identify, interpret, and analyze potential accounting risks and issues on a regional and global basis
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines due to financial statement filings
  • Independent judgment, decision-making, attention to details and initiative in analyzing, developing and improving accounting processes, including accuracy, completeness and ownership within the area of assignment

  • Proactively work to discuss and resolve accounting and reporting issues with the manager and move project tasks forward
  • Ability to work with people within and outside group, with willingness to listen to various opinions
  • Work with sense of urgency to finish the assignment
  • Solves problems and develops new analytical methods to streamline decision making
  • Collaborates accounting information flow with other staffs and business units for optimal decisions
  • Initiative to improve and modernize processes, reporting and controls

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical skills/fundamental knowledge of US GAAP accounting.
  • 10+ years of finance and accounting experience.
  • A bachelor's degree in business and finance, with financial and management accounting concentration.
  • Knowledge of corporate accounting principles including ability to perform balance sheet and income statement account analysis, preparing of data for footnotes to financial statements.
  • Previous Controllership experience is preferred.
  • Critical thinking and inquisitive mind.
  • Advanced MS Excel and Word skills. SAP and Hyperion experience.
  • Provide accurate, timely and reliable reporting and maintain strong internal controls.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Structure presentations to management in straightforward, efficient manner.
