Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. This position requires an employee to be on-site approximately 3 times per week.

The Software Program Manager role will support the entire Global Electrification, Controls, Software & Electronics enterprise in the planning, deployment, and execution of the Universal Basic Software initiative and the associated features. This exciting role will manage the deployment of many mechatronics infrastructure software features and functions across the portfolio of SDV platforms. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working closely with both internal departments and external companies to implement UBSW as part of a Mechatronic Infrastructure Software Platform Solution. Cross functional collaboration will include strategic and tactical interactions with BSW, SDV, HWIO, Cybersecurity, Microprocessors, MCALs, AUTOSAR, Virtual Development, ECU/MU Hardware, and many others.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Management leader for UBSW execution and feature deployment. 

  • Work in close partnership with Lead Solution Manager and Product Manager to deliver enterprise wide Mechatronic Infrastructure Solutions.

  • Collaborate with customers, business owners, systems/solution architects, EPIC owners and Product Owners to understand the customer needs

  • Create and communicate the program vision using roadmaps and ensure they are reflective of the customer’s needs

  • Responsible for the roadmap to illustrate how features are intended to be implemented over time

  • Identify and manage dependencies with other ARTs, Value Streams, and ECU PDTs.

  • Define the release content – maintain commitment to plan of record and continue to ensure alignment of plan with key customers & stakeholders.

  • Develop and own business imperatives for UBSW products and ensure successful integration/execution between systems, subsystems, and components. 

  • Define/Balance/Approve Plan of Record for UBSW products including meeting critical IC by IV Bench Milestones with features and functions.

  • Communicate due dates for deliverables to from Product & SDV teams to Mechatronic Software Platform & UBSW teams. 

  • Ensure plan is developed and executed for program and quality requirements, working with partners such as testing, integration, and validation. 

  • Support external execution meetings as needed, such as PDTs, readiness reviews, and quality gates. 

  • Ensure the feature role out plan timing is aligned with controls and ECU content deliverables.  

  • Ensure UBSW software milestones for quality and content are met. (IC by IV Bench)

  • Support the Engineering Group Leader (EGL) in defining, managing and prioritizing allocated resources to complete tasks.

  • Solid understanding and experience in using Agile and traditional project management tools

  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills in risk/opportunity management

  • Effective interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building

  • Superb written and verbal communication skills with experience interacting with all management levels including executive level

Additional Description

Minimum Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field

  • 5+ years of software develop and/or software program management experience

  • Strong project management skills and the ability to plan and prioritize work to deliver required business objectives on time with quality

  • Experience in developing and deploying products in global markets with virtual teams

  • Capability to work in a fast-paced environment both internally and externally

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • SAFe certification & experienced in Lean Portfolio Management principles and practices

  • Master of Science in Engineering or MBA

  • 7+ years of software develop and/or software program management experience​

  • Understanding of infrastructure software development and the product development lifecycle

  • DFSS Black Belt or DFSS Master Black Belt Certified

  • Experience as a program manager in design, software engineering, or business environment
