General Motors Israel (Herzliya) takes a significant part in shaping the autonomous vehicle. We impact the future vehicles in diverse fields by developing cutting edge technologies. Within GM Israel, over 800 people working in a hybrid flexible mode on one of the most exciting challenges of our days.
The QA team in General motors Autonomous Driving (AD) group integrate, deploy and run various testing to verify and validate the product functionality that is being developed worldwide by GM engineering team. Simulation is at the heart of AD development, testing, and validation. The ability to simulate the complex environment the vehicle will encounter, running simulations at scale, and making sure simulations have high fidelity compared to the real world are all critical throughout the AD product lifecycle. Different project phases require different testing approach and methodology which include lab tests by using simulation, manual testing and field test on real cars.
As our systems increase in maturity and transition to production pipelines, the need increases for more advanced and rigorous release testing.
We are looking for a QA test engineer intern that has a combination of high technical skills and systematic view.
What will you do :
Testing SW releases of AD system using simulation in SiL and HiL, full sensing bench and on real vehicles.
Build test plans to cover different types of requirements by using different testing setups available
Using testing framework to generate different testing scenarios
Analysis and debugging issues from testing setups and vehicle
Analyze system performance - evaluate performance of the AD system and sensors (camera, radar, lidar) based on compute and latency limitations.
What are we looking for:
B.Sc. student in Engineering or Scientific field, with at least 1.5 years to graduation.
Good system-level understanding.
Experience working in Linux/cloud environments, CI/CD workflows, git.
Ability to work with complex software systems.
A “make-it-happen” hands-on personality and approach.
English level – highly proficient in spoken and written English – Must.
- Programming skills with python or a similar language for scripting, data analysis and visualization.
- Experience being part of a software organization, development, and release processes.
- Experience with complex, multi-disciplinary systems.
- Experience in technical writing, training users/developers.
- Toolchain experience – Linux, Git, Jira, CI/CD workflows, Docker.
