Hybrid: This position does require an employee to be on-site to perform effectively. This position requires an employee to be onsite 1-2 times per week.
GM Motorsports Competition Engineering is looking for a Systems Engineer to support the Cadillac LMDh race car electronics systems within data acquisition and vehicle controls. Working with the chassis supplier and race teams you will facilitate a uniform group approach to a capable and efficient vehicle architecture. In tandem with your trackside assistance, ensuring documentation is complete and updated for interfaces will be your primary objectives. This is a great growth opportunity for anyone with a background in vehicle systems and data acquisition seeking to increase their expertise in the high pace racing environment.

To succeed in this exciting role, we are looking for:
Required:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related field
-
2+ years of experience in electronics data acquisition and willing to learn with mentorship and without direct teaching to grow expertise

Skilled at balancing multiple projects efficiently, including prioritization and working to tight due dates

Extremely motivated and ready to step up to whatever is needed to get the job done whether learning new skills or, spending time immersed in documentation

Strong collaboration skills and savvy to navigate relationships within GM and with external partners

Able to create, read, and track electronics documentation and configurations
-
Talent to present data clearly and concisely; Examples will be requested

High proficiency in fault finding, problem solving, methodically finding and solving issue root causes in a short timeframe

Travel to domestic and international races and tests to support the program 10-15 times a year will be required
Preferred:

Motorsports experience is preferred. Data Acquisition experience on a team is highly desired. Experience in collegiate programs such as Formula SAE or personal hobby engagement will also be considered.
