This is a Hybrid position within our DBTT Organization. The role will allow employees to work offsite but will also require onsite work based on business needs. The selected candidate will be expected to commute to the innovation center to which they are assigned as their primary GM facility. This position requires an employee to be onsite 3x per week to support business objectives.

About the Senior Software Engineer
The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for new and innovative software/application development for our Digital EV Commerce programs. These applications will be purpose built to support our global EV strategy and will support the shop, buy, and ownership customer journeys in global markets including Europe, China and other emerging countries. Our Full Stack Application Development teams work with React, Java, Quarkus, Docker, and Kubernetes to build world class systems and user interfaces to achieve an exceptional customer experience. Our Mobile Application Development teams will work with native Android and iOS platforms as well as Flutter front end developers to build world class user interfaces and achieve an exceptional customer experience. We have a highly collaborative environment working across many disciplines using new cutting-edge technologies – understanding and inventing new designs and integration patterns along the way.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Agile team to deliver high-quality, testable software

  • Develop applications and tools by producing clean, efficient code

  • Mentor and guide junior developers

  • Estimate and design work that is just-in-time and sized in small increments

  • Perform root cause analysis, do technology evaluations, and develop quick prototypes

  • Report status of assigned software development and/or maintenance tasks

  • Consistently follow the specified software development methodology

  • Promote improvements in programming practices such as acceptance test driven development, continuous integration, and continuous delivery

  • Perform Code Reviews and provide insightful feedback to teammates

  • Prospective team members possess a high degree of business insight, creativity, decision making skills, a drive for results, the ability to negotiate, the ability to develop strong peer relationships, and a strong technical learning capability and focus.

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of experience using JavaScript frameworks like React/Angular/Vue, HTML and CSS OR, 3-5+ years of experience using Spring, Java, Quarkus and/or backend frameworks OR, 3-5+ years of experience with mobile development with Flutter or React Native

  • 5+ years software development utilizing industry standard design patterns

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to effectively communicate and translate feedback, needs and solutions

  • Experience with Agile teams that have delivered software on a regular cadence

  • Creative problem-solving skills that deliver elegant solutions to complex issues

  • Strong teamwork focus and the ability to foster collaboration within and across teams

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related engineering field

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years developing Cloud Native 12-factor apps including designing and implementing Continuous Integration, Build, and Delivery

  • Microsoft Azure Cloud experience Docker, Kubernetes, Python are a plus

  • Experience with Microservices and Micro Frontend frameworks are a plus

  • Mobile development with Flutter or React Native experience is highly desirable

  • Development experience in Responsive Web, Accessibility standards, Semantic markup and structured CSS is desirable
