Description

Develop, validate and implement common serviceability specifications, service part release/information and simultaneous production across multiple vehicle platforms. Represent Aftersales Engineering within the Global Vehicle Development Process and with Product Engineering at the assigned Body Subsystem Core PDT(s). Holds themselves and others accountable for demonstrating GMs values and cultural behaviors. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Additional Description

The Technical Author is mainly focusing on creating and validating aftersales manuals, such as Service Information, Owner Manual, Warranty (3R), Dismantling and First Responder Guide for GM China Import launches

This position requires involvement in the following key areas:

•Coordinate with GMNA and related China teams to support on manual authoring and validation
•Lead information gathering specifically to meet China regulations and regulatory requirements
•Support all budget activities for print and install manual in vehicle
•Develop and improve the process on authoring and feedback strategy
•Support and assist on dealer reported issues and close the issue in time
•Support ad-hoc projects

Basic Qualifications

•Fluency (spoken and written) in English and Chinese
•Bachelor Degree in Engineering and/or Automotive or above
•Excellent communication, presentation and training delivery skills
•Strong interpersonal skills required to develop internal & external relationships
•Capable/comfortable working with multi-national professionals
•Experience with authoring automotive technical systems is a plus
•Able to work in a detailed-data environment and perform considerable data analysis
•Strong understanding of China automotive service practices for electric and internal combustion vehicles
•Familiarity of GM engineering standards, processes and terms a plus

Preferred Skills & Experiences:

•A minimum of 5-years’ experience in Automotive Aftersales service and owner information,  authoring, or related experience.
•Preference of working in a detailed-data environment while performing considerable data analysis
