Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. This position requires an employee to be on-site approximately 3 times per week.

The Mechatronic Software Platform (MSP) Organization leads a mission to create a robust mechatronic software infrastructure which will enable GM to deliver features and functions that will excite and delight our customers. The Software Integration Manager (SWIM) is a technical leadership position where you will be responsible to plan, lead, and execute software content and timing for SDV2.0 MCU software releases. By leading the Mechatronic Integration Software Execution Team meeting, you’ll be collaborating with various stakeholders to track release progress, identifying and resolving roadblocks, and reporting status.

Additional Description

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of software content and timing for assigned releases on new controllers

  • Provide direction and set priorities for software builds, testing, and validation

  • Document the information in software delivery plan and communicate those plans to internal and external organizations

  • Lead project specific software verification and validation plan and document the information in software Analysis, Development and Validation (ADV) plan. Acquire approval from appropriate leadership

  • Drive resolution of issues and obstacles and escalate as required

  • Foster & document best practices to ensure high quality work and reduce development lead time

Required Qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Science, Electrical, Software, Mechanical or Computer Engineering

  • 5+ years of professional experience in software integration, CI/CD and/or DevOps with experience in tooling, infrastructure solutions and automated testing

  • Project management skills: planning and prioritizing work to deliver required objectives on time with quality

  • Knowledge of programming (e.g., C/C++/JAVA/Assembly) and scripting languages (e.g., Perl/Python)

  • Understanding of operating systems (e.g., Unix, Linux, RTOS for embedded system) and instrumentation (e.g., INCA, in circuit emulators, dSpace)

  • Familiarity with configuration management system (e.g., GiT) and build tools (e.g., Jenkins, eflow)

  • Ability to independently investigate issues based on limited information, demonstrating high level of analytical ability to resolve complex problems

  • Creative and disciplined with a strong sense of ownership, responsibility and on schedule delivery commitment

  • Capable of completing multiple tasks with competing priorities

  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS degree in Computer Science, Electrical, Software, Mechanical or Computer Engineering

  • Experience working in Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)

  • Experience with Automotive Communication Protocols (Ethernet/CAN/LIN)

  • Familiarity with microprocessor/micro-controller design and theory
