Description
This is a Hybrid Position within our IT Organization. The role will allow employees to work offsite and will also require onsite work based on business needs. The selected candidate will be expected to commute to the innovation center to which they are assigned as their primary GM facility.
The Role
The Network Security Engineer is a key member of the Network Controls Assurance (NCA) organization. This role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and improving processes to optimize various critical network security controls protecting the GM environment.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
The Network Security Engineer will be responsible for supporting the following areas:
- Management of the GM Global Firewall Rule Lifecycle Process
- Management of the GM Global Internet Proxy Security Configuration Approval Process
- Web Application Firewall (WAF) design, configuration, management, and monitoring
- Application Ring Fence design configuration, management, and monitoring
- Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) signature tuning & deployment
- Developing engagement & support models for network services protecting GM Assets

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electronics and/or equivalent
- At least 6+ years of security management, network engineering, or network security experience
- IT Project Management experience
- Designing, integrating and managing complex infrastructure security solutions
- Ability to provide technical system solutions, determine overall design direction and provide hardware recommendations for complex technical issues
- Experience planning and developing support processes and adhering to best practices
- Strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies

Compensation: The expected base compensation for this role is : $90,200 - $144,100 . Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
