Hybrid - Position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time but the [general expectation is that the employee be onsite] an average of three (3) days each week.
The Role
Energy Conversion Systems (ECS) at General Motors is a fast-paced team that is working on developing technology. We’re creating groundbreaking energy conversion systems (Batteries, Electric Motors, Electrification Electronics, Drive Units, Engines, and Transmissions) that provide industry leading performance for current and future GM Vehicles. We are seeking highly motivated, forward thinking, innovative, high performing people leaders with a balance of strategic and tactical skills, to join this dynamic environment and help move us forward to achieve GM’s Zero, Zero, Zero mission. You will be responsible for leading a team responsible for hardware design and release within ECS. This opening is for an EGM position leading the Battery Cell team.

Additional Description
Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications)
-
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
-
7+ years of engineering experience in all phases of product development from initiation to launch
-
Knowledge of engineering processes, tools, and vehicle / propulsion development processes
-
Working knowledge of HV battery cells and battery systems
-
Experience leading projects and people (directly or indirectly), with highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
-
Demonstrated organization and planning capability, with the ability to quickly identify and remove roadblocks and escalate as appropriate
-
Excellent conflict resolution skills, with proven capability to balance technical and business needs
-
Strong collaboration skills
-
Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity and support timely decision making
-
Ability to manage multiple assignments with a high level of composure and proven results
-
DFSS black belt
-
Prior people leader experience
