H ybrid : This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren, Michigan, three times per week, at minimum.

The Role

We are seeking a Controls and Process System Engineers to join our growing team! Bring your project teamwork skills to work in exciting new test solutions across consolidated labs in Pontiac, Warren, and Milford. Working through multiple angles in the ground level review team, you will partner with product engineers, advanced engineering, key suppliers, global groups, and outside resources to focus on electric propulsion systems, test measurement and control systems, PLC software, and multiple mechanical/electrical systems that support test operations. You will develop standards, coordinate integration and installation of test systems, resolve equipment issues, improve test uptime, and ensure test data quality. Understanding of complex engineering theory and principles of mechanical and electrical mechanisms and experience in equipment installations and rearrangements are key to your success.   • Creates & delivers presentations for management.

  • Provides and reviews metric data to improve efficiencies.

  • Provides customers & project teams with data analysis.

  • Support & lead strategies to achieve business initiatives.

  • Mentors team members and influences by example.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Additional Description

Your Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering

  • 5+ years experience in facility or test equipment installation / maintenance

  • Electric Propulsion system testing, High Voltage DC Power Systems, and High voltage safety systems experience

  • Knowledge of 480/277/220/208/120VAC secondary power systems to include:

  • Power distribution networks – cabling and busways

  •  Switchgear – substations, MCCs and PDPs

  •  Knowledge of NEC and UL codes – approach boundaries and classified areas

  • Knowledge of electrical safety – lockout and PPE

  • Purchasing capital equipment

  • Creative in meeting project quality, timing, and cost landmarks

  • Management of change

  • Experience with equipment and automation systems that supports dynamometer and battery testing
