Onsite - Employee is required to be onsite full time.

The Role

As an Execution Engineer for the L6 Diesel, Gen 5, and Gen 6 Programs, you will be responsible for implementing robust ME machining and assembly processes. You will be accountable for writing specifications, procuring tooling/machinery, and qualifying OEM equipment. This includes managing the OEM equipment throughout the build and install phases. The role requires continuous improvement of both machinery and processes. The work is performed in a centralized manufacturing engineering environment utilizing agile methodologies. This environment empowers team members, promotes cross functional collaboration, encourages transparency, and contributes to fast cycles of learning. This work shall be performed at the individual machine builder’s facility and Flint Propulsion.

What You Will Do

  • Oversee the process development, equipment installation, debug, runoff, validation, and continuous improvement activities required to produce high-quality engines.

  • Cultivate collaboration, problem solving, transparency, adaptation, and inclusion that instills a workplace of choice environment

  • Serve as a communication bridge between Product Engineering, PPO Manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineering, and Manufacturing organizations

  • Develop and maintain necessary documentation (Job Instructions, Failure Mode Effect Analysis databases, machine drawings, tooling drawings, etc.)

  • Provide technical and program management assistance to achieve program requirements

  • Meet program targets and metrics (Safety, Timing, Cost, and Quality)

  • Collaborate cross functionally with Operations Team to achieve program launch deliverable signoff

  • Perform root cause analysis, develop solutions, and implement corrective action plans

  • Analyze first time quality data and optimize processes using statistical tools such as Red-X, Design of Experiments, or DFSS

Additional Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Rotating and Reciprocating machining experience (i.e. crankshaft and camshaft machining)

  • Demonstrated program execution experience

  • Demonstrated experience developing manufacturing processes

  • Knowledge of equipment procurement and qualification of equipment/tooling

  • Professional experience training and developing peers

  • Proven technical knowledge and ability in process engineering disciplines (machining, assembly, test, etc.)

  • Strong mechanical skills - hydraulics, pneumatics, and machining applications.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience with at least 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience

  • 5 years of execution experience

  • Demonstrated high volume manufacturing experience

  • Proven engine processing knowledge

  • Proven knowledge and experience utilizing an agile methodology (scrum and sprint framework)
