The Role
- Develop and implement media relations strategies to support GM’s business objectives in China and tell GM’s positive stories to a diverse audience
What You’ll Do
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and influencers through proactive and “show not tell” engagement
- Serve as the primary point of contact for media inquiries and coordinate responses in a timely and accurate manner
- Manage in-house media database and use data analytics to guide relationship management and measure communications’ impact
- Provide strategic advice to crisis management, ensuring accurate and consistent communications with media
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- A bachelor's degree or above in Journalism, Public Relations, or a closely related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in media relations or news reporting on the automotive beat
- Profound knowledge of China’s automotive industry and media landscape
- Proven track record of generating earned media coverage and managing high-impact media relationships
