Staff Product Manager - Customer Identity and Advanced Authentication
Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Technical/Innovation Center in Mountain View (CA), Warren (MI), Austin (TX) or Roswell (GA) three times per week, at minimum. This position can be located at any of these locations.

The Role
In the role of Staff Product Manager at General Motors, you will have the exciting responsibility of leading the product management efforts for our Customer Identity and Advanced Authentication experience across vehicle, mobile, and web platforms.
As Staff Product Manager, you will be responsible for coming up with effective solutions that are valuable (our customers choose to buy or use) and viable (the solution works within the many constraints of the business).
Your expertise will be crucial in leveraging a range of technologies, including Passkeys, Biometrics, Tokens, Cookies, Biosensing, and more, to shape the strategy and development of authentication experiences that are not only simple but also foster trust with our valued customers.

What You’ll Do

Establish a product vision and strategy that is rooted in a deep understanding of customer and business needs. You will dissect product challenges by conducting research and engaging stakeholders, ensuring your product is valuable and viable .

Collaborate closely with software design, engineering, and program management teams to define product delivery plans, discover effective solutions, and then work together to deliver those solutions to market.

Analyze market trends and best practices to position your product effectively.

Identify and achieve product objectives and key results.

Create and maintain a product roadmap that outlines a product's vision, direction, and progress over time.

Inspire your teammates, as well as colleagues, stakeholders, and key executives, through your use of data and logic.

Contribute a deep knowledge of our users and customers, and the data about how our customers engage with our products.

Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product rollouts with sound go-to-market planning.

Drive the integration of customer feedback and operational data into product development enhancing functionality and the customer experience.

Ensure compliance with security, privacy and other regulatory requirements and standards.
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, computer science or equivalent
-
7+ years of relevant overall experience
-
4+ years of product management experience, specifically with a focus on customer identity, emerging authentication methods (biometrics, passkeys, token based) and security solutions

Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex product initiatives across design, program, engineering, product, cyber security, marketing, and customer experience

Must have both a strong business and technical acumen

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with diverse teams and driving consensus at all levels of the organization

Strategic thinker with a data-driven approach to decision making and problem solving.

Demonstrated ability to figure out solutions to hard problems with many constraints, using sound judgement to assess risks and to lay out your direction in a well-structured, data-informed, written narrative.

Compensation : The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of the California Bay Area.

The salary range for this role is $127,900 to $200,100. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
