The Senior Data Engineer will play a crucial role in developing robust data pipelines to monitor high voltage battery systems using manufacturing end-of-line data. This role will contribute to enhancing the overall quality and reliability of high voltage battery systems through data-driven insights. This role is growing in response to the dramatic growth of hybrid and electric vehicle markets as well as GM’s expanding Electrification portfolio.
In this role you must have a passion for data-driven results and a desire to become an integral part of our exciting new corporate vision: Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions, and Zero Congestion.
The employee is expected to be in person at GM Warren, 3 days per week.
Responsibilities:

Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines to process manufacturing end of line data.

Build data quality monitoring processes to detect and resolve data anomalies.

Collaborate with data scientists to build engineered features and data pipelines for prognostics algorithms.

Implement and oversee data governance policies to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance.

Actively participate in analytics forums and cross-functional groups, sharing knowledge and insights within and beyond the battery engineering domain.
Additional Description
Requirements:
-
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or Data Analytics.

5+ years of experience utilizing data analysis methods and success solving complex problems.
-
2+ years of experience of working with manufacturing end of line data.
-
Proficiency using relevant tools: Python, Spark, Hive, MATLAB, Power BI, Tableau, R.

Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment methodologies and their application in data engineering and analytics workflows.

Real-world experience using Databricks platform.

Capable of converting ambiguous problem statements into concrete project requirements.

Passion for data driven results and customer initiatives.

Knowledge of high voltage batteries and electrification subsystems .
Desired Skills:
-
Master’s in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Data Analytics.

Databricks certification.
-
Familiar with Microsoft Azure platform.

8+ years of experience utilizing data analysis methods and success solving complex problems.

High voltage battery design, control, or calibration experience
-
Familiarity with battery manufacturing processes and methods
