Senior Connectivity Invoice Analyst
Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Global Technical Center in Warren, MI three times per week, at minimum.
The Role
There is a considerable amount of amazing new work in the pipeline at General Motors’ Global Mobile Network & Strategic Partnerships. We are expanding 4G connectivity global, offering many new services to our customers locally while upgrading to 5G, and integrating new vendors and cost models.
We are seeking a highly technical and analytical Senior Connectivity Invoice Analyst who will manage vendors and analyze an incredible amount of cellular activity to make insightful conclusions of expenses. This role will validate that invoices meet contract terms, own reports to Finance to recover costs and pay revenue shares, develop financial forecasts & business cases, and support monthly & annual budget reviews with leadership.
This position will grow to be responsible for similar activities on a Global scale.
What You’ll Do

Author (SQL/Knime) queries and use visualization tools (PowerBI) to extract data and generate insightful conclusions, trends, detect abnormalities/defects, compare results to invoices and budgets.

Analyze vendor invoices. Reconcile to data extracts and contract terms, identify errors, missing charges/accruals to Finance, submit claims, resolve with improved controls to prevent future occurrences, and validate invoices for payment.

Revise monthly & annual budgets. Identify and explain variances, risks & opportunities to leadership.

Identify and drive to closure any opportunities for invoice claims and operational efficiencies/savings.

Input revised business cases / cost models into budget; confirm funding sources; drive cross-charges.

Author requirements for internal/external billing & reporting system changes to enterprise data warehouse team.

Drive to improve existing processes using AI & Automation tools to enable you to do more.

Author & update work instructions & procedures.
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, Data Science, Computer Science or other related field.

5+ years of relevant experience with invoice or data analysis & presentation of insights with large-scale, enterprise level data.

Strong technical background, or experience in problem solving to identify, prioritize, and communicate technical issues from point of service consumption to back-office service invoice.

2+ years SQL read/writing, Cognos scheduling PowerBI visualization.

Strong MS Excel skills: filtering/sorting, pivot tables, external file links, line & stacked bar charting, formatting. Deconstruct others’ workbooks. Copy/paste cells/charts into PowerPoint.

Knowledgeable in at least one of the following areas: invoice & billing systems, relational databases, financial reporting, forecasting/budgeting.

Must have analytical deep-dive skills where root cause is not always apparent.

Highly engaged (video, chat, cell, person) during normal business hours. Flexible scheduling to accomplish end-of-month reporting responsibilities (4~8hrs of work) from home during automotive shutdown weeks.
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge

AI, ML and/or Data Science experience is highly preferred.

Cellular network data analysis experience.

Invoice analysis experience.
