Description

Design control sophisticated control algorithms that meet the following design guidelines including accurate, high-bandwidth torque production, maximize hardware capability and efficiency, high quality voltage synthesis, robust to parameter variation and changes in operating conditions, optimized for world class electric drive NVH, and capable of robust diagnostic coverage and flexibility through calibration. Provide technical leadership and mentoring to Agile Scrum team members to deliver novel motor control solutions. Perform simulation and analysis of electric drives and high voltage power electronics. Plan and perform algorithm development and verification in hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) benches, dynamometer facilities, and development vehicles. Work closely with software, calibration, electric machine and inverter design teams to ensure on-time, robust controls development. Lead, coordinate, and collaborate with developments outside the team such as Systems & Safety, Electrical Architecture, Software Defined Vehicle, Calibration and Vehicle Performance. Actively pursue cost reduction and performance and efficiency improvement advanced projects in the motor controls domain. Document and communicate control enhancements at technical review meetings per program timing. Able to work remotely for 2 days a week, must be able to report to local office

REQUIREMENTS:                

Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field of study. Three (3) years of experience as a Developer, Controls Engineer, Hardware Engineer, or related.  Three years of experience with Embedded controls and controls software development; Electrification and diagnostics; Software coding including C-language, Simulink, MATLAB, DOORS, GIT environments; Plant modeling, and analysis tools; Control system theory and application to embedded systems including state space feedback control, adaptive control, and model predictive control; and Brake Control, Chassis Control and Battery High Voltage, Vehicle Energy Transfer, Charging and Automotive System.
