Description

Review manufacturing system requirements and design robust software applications. Create and document GCCS and Non GCCS standards for manufacturing requirements. Interface with other ME departments and regional automation execution teams to gather feedback and document manufacturing requirements. Interface with execution teams, equipment suppliers and manufacturing integration suppliers. Ensure software application designs comply with GM standards. Manage detailed designs by contractors when necessary. Specify software guidance, functional requirements, and integration methods. Evaluate and validate new software for use in manufacturing plants. Provide on-site and remote technical support for: plant software issues, new equipment startup, troubleshooting, reprogramming, diagnostic equipment usage, and interfacing with skilled trades personnel. Provide training and documentation for global deployment of standard GCCS and NON GCCS software. Educate the regional execution teams. Provide plant technical support with the development, planning and strategies for maintaining and replacing obsolete equipment. Telecommuting available 2 days a week. 5% travel to client sites nationwide

Additional Description

REQUIREMENTS:             

Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field of study. Five (5) years of experience as a Developer, or related occupation.  Five years of experience in the following skills: Programming and troubleshooting PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) from leading manufacturers including Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or Mitsubishi; HMI (Human-Machine Interface) design and programming, including software such as Rockwell, or Siemens WinCC; and Configuring and troubleshooting Ethernet networks and DeviceNet communication protocols in industrial settings. Two years of experience in the following skills: Articulate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences; and Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and management.
