Work Arrangement:
Hybrid: The position does not require an employee to be onsite full-time to perform most effectively. The employee's role enables them to work at a GM facility, or off-site as frequently as needed or desired.
The Role:
The successful candidate will work with a multi-functional engineering team to develop, collect, document and maintain requirements for advanced control system algorithms, in the support of software development for advanced vehicle motion control systems. The students will be part of a dynamic team and will assist in the development and insertion of new vehicle technologies (vehicle controls, sensing, trailering and chassis systems, etc.) and adjacent innovation businesses.
We are looking for individuals who demonstrate creativity, initiative, and a high level of independent judgment and who share a genuine passion for technology and controls/electrical systems.

Required Qualifications:

Pursuit of a Bachelor's (4th year students) or Master's degree in one of the following areas: Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Systems Engineering, Engineering Physics, Engineering Science

Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week in Canada, and for 8 or 12-month term starting January 2024

Basic electrical and control systems knowledge

Have a valid Full G Ontario driver’s license, or equivalent out-of-province license

Highly adaptable with the ability to work independently and in a team environment

Ability to multitask and achieve team consensus on solutions proposed.

Instinct to drive conversations necessary to determine development tasks

Fundamental digital literacy including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
