Engineering Group Manager - Connected Vehicle Cybersecurity

Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report onsite at the  GM Global Technical Center - Cole Engineering Center Tower,  three times per week minimum or other frequency dictated by the business

Defines and leads Cyber Security strategy for new technology, highly complex features, or significant improvements for current, new, or major programs. Provide, technical leadership to execution teams for development and integration. Stays abreast of new security technology and competitive products and defines GM direction. Provide, communicate, and support common best practices among the Cyber Security community. Performs other related duties as assigned. Actively participates in hiring, development of technical questionnaires, resume reviews and performs interviews. Participates in project eligible for patent application.

Required Skills / Experience:

  • 8+ years of post-graduation experience required; 10+ years strongly preferred
  • Minimum of a Bachelors degree required; technical degree strongly preferred in Engineering, IT, Software Development or another related field
  • Working knowledge of major automotive subsystems; Product Cybersecurity experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of vehicle software integration, data dictionary strategy, and release strategy
  • Position may require travel domestically and internationally (up to 5%)
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to lead diverse/cross-functional teams, as well as mentor, motivate, and elicit work output from peers and other team members
  • Effective communicator with solid oral and written presentation skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to make decisions and recommendations while taking into account appropriate tradeoffs between conflicting objectives
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and make decisions/recommendations with limited data

Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington

  • Compensation: The expected base compensation for this role is : $116,100 - $181,600 Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
