An exciting opportunity for an Automotive Product Quality Specialist to join our growing Brand Quality team in a fast-paced environment within Australia & New Zealand automotive industry. You will be responsible for the identification, escalation, resolution, and communication of product issues relating to all GM vehicles sold within Australia and New Zealand.
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented hands-on problem solver to ensure that our products consistently meet the highest standards of quality and brand integrity. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring product quality, coordinating with vehicle homeroom teams, and implementing quality control processes and technical solutions to maintain brand consistency and customer satisfaction. You’ll work across multiple carlines, brands, and technologies at an exciting time within our business, and the automotive industry.
Responsibilities but not limited to:
- Identify, define, and root cause product issues and manage issues through to resolution.
- Collaborate with global cross-functional teams and suppliers to address product issues.
- Develop and implement quality assurance strategies and processes.
- Evaluate failed material or vehicle performance, develop means of reproducing issue where necessary, to determine cause of failure, whether design, manufacturing, or operating condition related.
- Investigate and resolve issues on escalated field vehicles, including vehicles at logistics locations and supplier facilities as required and feed issues back into vehicle homerooms.
- Lead all aspects of pre-launch Quality processes as required, such as quality drives and evaluation programs, audits and captured test fleet programs.
- Escalate issues identified as potential safety concerns to appropriate internal stakeholders.
- Author and/or release service technical documentation to describe the method of correction.
- As a technical subject matter expert, collaborate with field, training, and dealer support teams to assist with the management and resolution of field concerns and vehicle issues.
Experience/Skills:
- 7+ years within the automotive industry with direct involvement in, or significant exposure to relevant roles within the Aftersales business
- Tertiary qualification in an Engineering discipline OR Trade qualification as an Automotive technician is desirable.
- Experience in complex technical investigations and problem-solving methodologies.
- Experience diagnosing and resolving complex electrical and software related vehicle and component issues, with High Voltage (HV) battery and systems experience very highly regarded.
- Experience within Engineering, Aftersales Zone, or Field Service Engineering desirable
- Direct Dealer experience within the Aftersales function highly regarded.
- Strong technical understanding of the latest technology vehicle systems, components, and operation with experience in HV vehicle electrical systems and batteries highly desirable
- Strong understanding of vehicle repair techniques, tools, and processes
