The Mechatronic Software Platform organization supports GM’s vision by providing mechatronic infrastructure software and integration services to support our Software Defined Vehicle future. We are looking for creative and enthusiastic candidates who want to lead a team working in our space. These Engineering Group Leaders will hold responsibility to lead cross-functional teams to develop software for all vehicle platforms within GM’s portfolio.
The selected candidates will be expected to ensure the organization has the capability and resources to execute on-time with quality and provide thought leadership, foster innovation, facilitate communication, and inspire passion. Lead of team of highly skilled engineers to foster an environment for high-performing team dynamics, continuous flow, and relentless improvement

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science
-
7+ years of engineering experience
-
Demonstrated experience leading change. This includes identifying needed change, as well as championing change that furthered the business
-
Strong understanding of software build, testing, triage, and issue resolution
-
Knowledge of both physical (HIL) and virtual (SIL, SOLE) testing environments
-
Knowledge of mechatronic infrastructure software: basic software, communications, diagnostics, ethernet, cybersecurity, and HWIO
-
Understanding of SDV architecture
-
Understanding of GVDP and program execution deliverables
-
Demonstrated high level of analytical ability, communication, and interpersonal skills
-
Ability to communicate complex issues to leaders for alignment and efficient escalation
-
Capability to manage multiple projects and assignments with high level of autonomy and high accountability for results
-
Experience leading a high performing team to on-time completion of deliverables
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Skills)

5+ years of technical knowledge and ability in relevant engineering disciplines (e.g. Software, Software testing, Calibration, Controls, Tools Development, Validation)

Coding knowledge (Python, C, etc)

Understanding of software design and coding processes

Prior team leadership experience for engineering teams responsible for building, testing, or triaging software

Experience or knowledge of relevant tools (e.g.: Jira, Jenkins , GIT, etc.)

Understanding of instrumentation and data acquisition systems
