Global Manufacturing Electrical & SDV is looking for innovators who thrive in tough challenges and are passionate about tackling meaningful work that will shape the future of the automotive industry. This isn’t a role for those looking for an easy path—it’s for those who embrace change, push through obstacles, and take ownership of complex problems. While there will be long days and moments that test your resilience, you’ll find purpose in your work, flexibility to prioritize your family, and the support of a people-first culture.

If you’re ready to grow, thrive, and make a real impact, we’d love to hear from you.

  • WHY:  The purpose of this role is to lead a team of manufacturing experts from component definition through launch to enhance Electrical First Time Quality (E-FTQ) at GM assembly plants.
  • WHAT:  As an EGM Manufacturing Product Strategy, you will leverage manufacturing expertise to influence designs for all electrical components, ensuring GM and supplier manufacturability and quality, while working with GM plants to ensure they comply with BoO standards.
  • HOW:  The EGM role leads manufacturing experts to drive innovation and optimize component design and launch processes. This includes supporting MQRR reviews, promoting cross-functional collaboration, and fostering a continuous improvement approach. By utilizing inputs such as Manufacturing Requirements and Warranty, the team enhances efficiency, safety, and Electrical First Time Quality (E-FTQ).

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities):

  • Lead a highly motivated team in the Global Manufacturing Electrical Strategy & Execution organization, integrating expertise from Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, Plant Quality, Product Development, and IT to enhance electrical manufacturing performance.

  • Enhance electrical teams' capabilities during plant launches to achieve and exceed manufacturing metrics (E-FTQ and electrical warranty) amid accelerated ICE and EV launches.

  • Support plant and program team reviews and deliverables, with a customer focus.

  • Capture standardized work and best practices in the Electrical Bill of Operations (BoO) Launch Aid and the global vehicle development process (GVDP) to proactively address issues and continually drive improvement initiatives on the left.

  • Drive innovation and identify improvement areas for Vehicle Assembly Plants (VAPs) using BoO standards and ensure effective implementation.

  • Interact with cross-functional teams, such as PE and SQ to establish new manufacturing standards for all electrical components, such as wire harness manufacturing processes, modules, etc.

  • Foster a forward-thinking work culture that embraces change and navigates future challenges.

  • Build and nurture strategic relationships across various functions including software, manufacturing, and program management to synergize efforts towards future innovations.

[Additional Description]

Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • 5-10+ years manufacturing experience with a deep focus on vehicle electrical systems, manufacturing and quality processes, repairs, and particularly on Electrical First Time Quality (E-FTQ).

  • Excellent communication skills to simplify complex technical issues for diverse audiences, including non-technical stakeholders and senior leadership.

  • Proven ability to motivate teams, set clear objectives, and drive results through innovative thinking and execution.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Proven manufacturing engineering processing knowledge.

  • Experience in launch, program team reviews and working with suppliers.

  • Ability to work within cross-functional global teams and manage ambiguous and high-pressure environments.

This job may be eligible for relocation benefits.
