You will own the delivery roadmap, orchestrate cross-functional dependencies, and ensure your ART delivers the right product, at the right time, with the highest impact. As a servant leader, you will guide the team to continuously improve value delivery, execution predictability, and alignment with GM’s vehicle development programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive PI planning readiness , cross-functional alignment, and backlog management using agile tools such as JIRA and Confluence
  • Proactively remove roadblocks, resolve execution misalignments, and escalate risks where appropriate.
  • Utilize program management tools to track status, visualize risk, and communicate delivery progress to leadership.

Backlog Ownership & Roadmap Management

  • Prioritize, refine, and maintain a clear and actionable ART backlog in JIRA , ensuring alignment with strategic goals and stakeholder timelines.
  • Ensure feature stories meet “acceptance critieria” and “definition of done” criteria and are traceable in program management systems.
  • Maintain a forward-looking roadmap extending 2–3 Program Increments (PIs), supported by a robust technology pipeline
  • Translate customer and vehicle program needs into well-defined, high-value deliverables.

Stakeholder & Cross-ART Collaboration

  • Act as the interface between VMEC, vehicle programs, and other ARTs , ensuring strong bi-directional alignment and timely content delivery.
  • Collaborate with Product Teams, Validation, Calibration, Systems Engineering, and platform leaders to align on shared goals.
  • Coordinate with other ART Managers for delivery dependencies across the vehicle software ecosystem.

Customer-Centric Decision-Making

  • Align development priorities with the highest-value outcomes for internal and external customers.
  • Ensure each delivered feature supports GM’s mission for Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions, and Zero Congestion

Metrics-Driven Optimization, Efficiency & Innovation

  • Define, track, and analyze key ART metrics (e.g., throughput, predictability, business value realization) using dashboards and reporting tools.
  • Identify patterns, gaps, or bottlenecks in execution; drive data-informed continuous improvement
  • Partner with engineering, systems, and tooling teams to implement efficiency enablers, automation, and process innovations
  • Contribute to innovation forums and retrospectives to improve quality, cadence, and customer value delivery.

DELIVERABLES

  • Prioritized and maintained ART Backlog in JIRA.
  • Accepted and traceable features with verified value and completeness.
  • ART Roadmaps updated 2–3 PIs ahead, visible to stakeholders.
  • Cross-team dependency maps and resolution tracking.
  • ART performance dashboards: throughput, value delivery, predictability.
  • Continuous improvement and innovation proposals based on metrics and stakeholder feedback.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in software program management, embedded systems, or systems engineering.
  • Hands-on expertise with JIRA, Confluence , and agile program management tools.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex cross-functional programs with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience leading agile teams, ARTs, or large-scale software projects using SAFe or similar frameworks.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; able to lead and influence across boundaries.

What Gives You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Master’s Degree (MBA, MSE) or SAFe/Agile certifications.
  • Experience in electrification, battery management systems (BMS), or high voltage control domains.
  • Knowledge of GM tools and systems (PRTS,  GMS, SAFe metrics).
  • DFSS Black Belt certification.
  • Proven track record with successful vehicle program launches.

WHO YOU ARE

You are a metrics-driven leader and strategic program operator . You speak the languages of software, systems, and execution equally well.
