GM Israel takes a significant part in transforming traditional cars into software-defined vehicles (SDV).
We are seeking an experienced Senior Validation and Verification Engineer with deep expertise in complex system integration , covering both hardware and software components . The ideal candidate will lead validation activities across the full lifecycle — from requirement review through integration and test execution — using Python-based automation frameworks within a Linux-based environment . This position also includes acting as the technical lead , guiding the team, driving strategic decisions, and ensuring effective collaboration across engineering groups.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead Technical Efforts: Act as the technical lead within the validation team, mentoring engineers, setting direction, and driving technical excellence.

Leadership: Own and lead all validation and verification activities for complex multi-disciplinary systems (HW/SW).

Test Strategy & Planning: Define and review system and feature-level test strategies based on requirement documentation.

Test Automation: Design and implement automated test cases in Python , using and extending existing automation infrastructure - Advantage.

Linux Environment: Work proficiently in Linux environments using command-line tools and shell scripting to support test execution and automation.

Integration Testing: Perform system and integration-level testing across components and subsystems.

Traceability & Coverage: Ensure traceability from requirements to tests, identifying and addressing gaps in coverage.

Cross-Team Collaboration: Coordinate with development, QA, and integration teams to ensure early defect detection and comprehensive testing.

Handover & Maintenance: Deliver validated test suites to downstream teams for long-term regression and maintenance.

Process Improvement: Continuously improve test methods, tools, and processes to support scalability and efficiency.

Over 10 years of hands-on experience in system validation and integration of complex systems involving hardware and software.
-
Proven leadership in multidisciplinary system validation (e.g., embedded systems, automotive, robotics, aerospace).

Proficient Python scripting skills and experience with automation frameworks.
-
Proficient in Linux-based environments , including shell scripting and debugging tools.
-
Demonstrated ability to serve as a technical lead , including mentoring and guiding engineering teams.

Solid understanding of system architecture , interface specifications , and integration strategies .

Experience with requirement and test management tools (e.g., DOORS, Polarion, Xray, TestRail).

Skilled in system-level debugging and log analysis for HW/SW systems.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:

Background in regulated or safety-critical industries (automotive, aerospace, defense, medical devices).

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control (e.g., Jenkins, Git).

Experience with simulation environments , bench setups, and field validation.

M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
