The Role

GM Motorsports Performance Engineering is expanding its motorsports engineering group. GM Motorsports races in NASCAR, IndyCar, IMSA and is currently pursuing an entry into Formula 1.  We are seeking a CATIA Surface Design Engineer to aid in various designs for racecar parts, such as, BIW, suspension, wing components, hydraulics, floor components, and interiors. You will work with the racing programs during all stages of life from part design to FEA and then, convert scans to surfaces then to parts. Position is open to international hiring.

What You’ll Do

  • Use your Catia experience and analytical thinking skills to create solids, surfaces, complex assemblies, and drawings

  • Collaborate with various members of the race program teams using a strong client-oriented focus

  • Partner with others to learn from and share knowledge in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Additional Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree

  • 3 or more years of automotive, motorsports or aerospace industry CAD surfacing design experience

  • CATIA or 3DX industry work experience

  • Surface modeling

  • Solid modeling

  • Ability to handle multiple programs efficiently

  • Excellent written and verbal skills

  • Basic vehicle knowledge

  • Knowledge of vehicle dynamics

  • Knowledge of aerodynamics
