On - Site: This position requires an employee to be on-site on a full-time basis.
The Role
The RESS process engineer will be assigned to the battery department inside the plant and be responsible for supporting the implementation of battery process equipment throughout launch and ongoing operations. This individual must have the ability to collaborate with all shop floor personnel, work with little direction, and have problem resolution skills. Additionally, you must be willing to support the implementation process of a GPS product inside a vehicle assembly plant. The Battery ME should be able demonstrate excellent level of analytical ability, communication and interpersonal skills required to build relationships with team members and customers to solve problems and resolve issues. We are hiring multiple engineers for this role and are open to new college hires and experienced hires.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities)

Promotes, educates, communicates and follows up on safety initiatives

Must be willing to rotate shifts & communicate status to following shifts

Support Red/Yellow/Green tag process for equipment installation with execution counterparts

Participate in PFMEA, SFMEA, PCP, and G-Risk meetings

Support equipment debug process with ME/Execution counterparts
-
Update area of responsibility and participate in the Launch wall meetings

Works with operations to identify and develop the Battery training skilled operators and ensure its implemented

Apply production knowledge to analyze major design, tooling and specification for SPQRC issues

Supports GMS activities and implementation

Lead TIP throughout battery assembly area
Additional Description
Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications)

Engineering degree from ABET-accredited university OR equivalent experience
-
Deep technical knowledge and ability in process engineering disciplines
-
Ability to work off-shift (starting with first, but potential for off-shift in future)

Ability to work OT as needed

Ability to travel 10% of the time
What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

5 or more years of Manufacturing experience

Experience with Product Launches (automotive preferred)

Master's Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or similar
