The Role
As an Associate Controls Technologist with General Motors, you will be embarking on an exciting and dynamic career in Automation and Manufacturing Engineering. This is a developmental role that will utilize formal training along with direct hands-on experience to create highly effective controls engineers. You will have a chance to work with and learn from a world class controls team, within a framework that promotes career growth.
Upon completion of the controls training program, you will be able to work independently in supporting new product launches and providing controls and automation support to GM production facilities.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

Learn and develop working knowledge of the GM Common Controls Architecture, including PLC, HMI, Drive Controllers, industrial robotics, machine vision, and communication software

Learn and develop troubleshooting skills for electrical hardware and software problems in manufacturing operations

Learn how to read, interpret, and modify electrical drawings and circuits

Learn and support GM Safety Policies and Specifications

Strong interest in the STEM fields, with aptitude in Math and Sciences

Comfortable working with computers, including Microsoft Office Suite

Must be willing to work weekends and off-shifts

Travel to suppliers and plants will be required

High School Diploma/GED
