Staff Product Manager - Fleet API & Data Services
Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Technical Center in Warren, MI or the Technical Center in Mountain View, CA office three times per week, at minimum.

The Role
As the Staff Product Manager for Fleet API & Data Services, you will be responsible for leading product strategy and execution to provide timely data and actionable insights to third-party partners, fleet, and business customers to protect their assets and optimize their operations by managing vehicle health, location, driver performance, energy consumption, and more.
You demonstrate strong strategic thinking, analytical prowess, business acumen, and interpersonal skill set that is essential for success in this role. Your technical aptitude and creativity will help shape complex solutions across value streams and drive clarity from ambiguity.
Additionally, you have a passionate dedication to customer focus and strong ability to influence others. You will work cross-functionally with diverse teams including user experience, market research, design, engineering, IT/development, finance, legal, operations, sales, and marketing to bring products to market and manage them through the product life cycle.
What You’ll Do

Define and drive the product strategy and roadmap for the GM Fleet Telemetry APIs, aligning with business objectives and customer needs.

Leads and collaborates with a large set of stakeholders to identify, build, and test customer value propositions.

Manage product lifecycle: problem identification / ideation / hypotheses, customer and product requirements, unique value proposition, execution, go to market, delivery, post launch review and refine.

Conduct market research and customer analysis to understand the needs and pain points of fleet management and rental companies, and translate insights into actionable product requirements.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, prioritize features, test customer value propositions, and deliver high-quality solutions.

Lead the development and launch of new features, enablers, and enhancements, ensuring seamless integration between 3rd party fleet management businesses and GM back office.

Oversee the implementation of robust security measures and privacy policies to safeguard sensitive data and ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards.

Drive customer engagement and satisfaction through effective communication, support, and continuous product improvement initiatives.

Assess product performance utilizing strong analytical skills to help prioritize creation, enhancement or termination of offerings, processes or features with relevant contexts such as improved user experience, platform investment, monetization opportunities, and new business opportunities.

Provide direction to analytics and market research teams on what needs and concepts require investigation and validation to support new demand opportunities.

Define and track key metrics using OKRs and KPIs to measure product success and inform future decisions

Demonstrate and articulate product value and strategic solutions to senior internal and external personnel.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

5+ years proven experience as Product Manager / Product Owner for B2B or B2C software enabled services, or equivalent

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field

Sincere empathy for the customer and a commitment to customer-centric design, with a track record of delivering successful products that meet or exceed customer expectations

Team player who collaborates well with others including partners at global scale

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Experience in defining and implementing security measures, privacy policies, and compliance standards for data protection

Analytical mindset and data-driven decision-making skills, with the ability to gather and analyze market data, customer feedback, and performance metrics to inform product strategy

Natural tendency to be curious, positive, and creative with a strong drive to innovate, invent and disrupt

Experience with SaaS and DaaS products.

Experience with microservices architecture, Restful APIs, data exchange formats such as JSON
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

MBA or equivalent experience preferred

Experience in fleet services/fleet management industry and connected vehicle telemetry is a plus

Hands-on software development, architecture, or business analysis experience is a plus

Knowledge and understanding of Electric vehicles and EV infrastructure is a plus

Understanding of major automotive systems and subsystems
Compensation : The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington.

The salary range for this role is $127,900 to $200,100. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
