Staff Product Manager, Commercial Software Platform - Enterprise Solutions
Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Technical Center in Warren, MI or the Technical Center in Mountain View, CA office three times per week, at minimum.
Product Management is responsible for developing, managing, and driving product initiatives across the organization. Key tasks include executing the product vision, roadmap, and requirements. This also includes working with cross-functional teams, conducting market research, and collaborating with other teams to ensure the successful launch of new products. The role requires strong analytical skills, communication ability, and a passion for delivering exceptional products that meet customer needs.
The Role
We are seeking a technically savvy Staff Product Manager to drive the software product portfolio for Commercial Fleets. This position will be responsible for identifying customer problems, building solutions using software to address them and in turn, translating them into business opportunities.
An experienced Product Management background and strong technical, influential, and strategic abilities will be needed to drive the success of our Commercial Software Platform, the foundational experience for all of GM’s Commercial Software Products.
What You’ll Do

Product Lifecycle Management: Guide the product team through the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to development, beta, launch, and sustaining, ensuring that product milestones align with customer and strategic goals.

Customer and Market Insight: Develop a deep understanding of customer needs, the market, and the competitive landscape to guide the team in creating customer-centric products.

Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with senior leadership, business, design, engineering, and other stakeholders throughout GM to align on priorities, gain buy-in, and ensure successful execution of product initiatives.

Excellence in Execution: Ensure the highest standards in product experience and execution. Engage hands-on in writing and reviewing requirements, evaluating designs, attending customer calls, participating in scrum ceremonies, and mentoring PMs.

Senior Leadership Communication: Regularly meet with senior leadership to present and discuss product concepts, roadmaps, and business reviews.

Writing Product Requirements Documents to enable Design and Engineering to develop the related products.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.

7+ years of experience as a Product Manager building large-scale software.

5+ years of experience building SaaS products for SMB and/or large enterprises. and working effectively with B2B sales and marketing teams.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Demonstrates clear strategic thinking. Capable of evaluating various options, making effective trade-offs, and crafting clear and compelling plans.

Exhibits a strong drive and sense of urgency, able to act swiftly and decisively while exercising sound judgment.

Leadership, mentorship, or management experience with a proven ability to lead and motivate teams.

Understanding of vehicle telematics and the fleet management industry.

Experience leading product teams with both internal and external customers.

Experience building e-commerce experiences and driving product-led growth.

Commercial or B2B sales or Product Management experience.
Compensatio n : The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of the California Bay Area.

The salary range for this role is $127,900 to $200,100. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
