The Role:   

This role is part of the Innovation and Business Development team within the Global Manufacturing Electrical & SDV Organization. As the Lead Business Intelligence Developer at General Motors, you will be responsible for developing and implementing data analytics, visualization, and business intelligence tools to support our global manufacturing operations. You will work closely with stakeholders to design and deliver solutions that optimize production processes and drive cost savings. Your expertise in data architecture and integration, including SQL, data modeling, ETL processes, and Power BI, will be crucial in managing the full data lifecycle—from designing efficient data systems and pipelines to creating impactful visualizations that transform complex data into actionable insights. This role requires flexibility and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Quick turnaround times on visual and data analysis are essential to support the dynamic needs of the manufacturing team. 

What You'll Do (Responsibilities): 

  • Develop and implement data analytics solutions to improve manufacturing efficiency, quality control, and supply chain management. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into actionable analytics solutions. 

  • Design and maintain data pipelines and workflows, ensuring data integrity and availability. 

  • Utilize statistical methods and machine learning techniques to extract insights from complex data sets. 

  • Build and deploy predictive models to support proactive decision-making and process optimization. 

  • Work closely with IT and operational teams to integrate analytics.

Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications): 

  • Bachelor’s of Engineering in Computer Science, Data Science or related fields.

  • 5+ years of proven experience in data analytics within Automotive or Manufacturing industry. 

  • Demonstrates advanced expertise in utilizing data visualization tools using Power BI. 

  • Strong proficiency in SQL, Power BI, Data warehousing, Data modeling, and ETL processes .

  • Ability to work with large datasets and perform complex data analysis. 

  • Proven experience in ETL processes and transforming raw data into actionable insights. 

  • Excellent problem-solving, critical-thinking and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and present findings to stakeholders. 

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to deliver high-quality visual and data analysis under tight deadlines. 

  • Flexibility and adaptability to support manufacturing teams with quick turnaround times on analysis and reporting needs.  

  • Ability to travel up to 30% across North America .

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications): 

  • Master’s of Engineering in Computer Science, Data Science or related fields.

  • Experience in developing and deploying predictive models to optimize manufacturing operations. 

  • Demonstrated ability to integrate analytics solutions into existing IT systems and operational workflows. 

  • Passion for staying updated with industry trends and applying innovative solutions to enhance manufacturing efficiency. 

  • Proven track record of delivering impactful insights and driving business decisions through data-driven approaches.
