As the Purchasing and Supply Chain Intern you will work within the Global Purchasing & Supply Chain team and the Aftersales Purchasing & Vehicle Logistics  team.

Your primary purpose in this role is to support the Strategic Commodity Buyer, prepare the sourcing of package presentation material, manage contracts and multiple special projects along the way. As well as this you will be responsible for the outbound vehicle logistics including NZ export, daily status reports and updates and managing the inquiries. This role will allow you a broad range of experience in the purchasing, supply chain & logistics areas.

Your responsibilities include:
 

CCA Purchasing

  • Support CCA (Customer Care and Aftersales) material team with special projects to improve business function and performance

  • Execute Engineering changes and negotiate with Suppliers

  • Supplier contract management

  • Support buyers and senior buyer in sourcing activities

  • Gather data from Suppliers

  • Coordinate Tool Disposal requests with Suppliers and Stakeholders

  • Investigate and resolve payment issues with Accounts Payable and Warehouse

  • Manage Vendor detail changes

Vehicle Logistics

  • Run a daily vehicle status report and a weekly payment report

  • Assistance in ensuring all inventory is maintained at the correct systems status including allocation

  • Assistance in following up dwelling vehicles

  • Identification and prioritization of urgent vehicles for delivery

About you

You’re an enthusiastic individual with a desire to learn. You are currently completing a relevant undergraduate degree with minimum of two semesters remaining (post internship in 2026). You can demonstrate:

  • Basic knowledge in international & domestic supply chain (preferred)

  • A can-do attitude with a great work ethic

  • Ability to clearly articulate messages in written and verbal form

  • Accuracy and attention to detail

  • Analytical mind

  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner 

  • Customer focused

  • Strong ability to think outside the box when dealing with different projects

  • Proactive and a self-starter who is able to motivate peers and stakeholders

  • Skill with Microsoft Office 

Please note: This is a full-time 12-month internship role commencing in January 2025, if your university supports this through a co-op program or professional placements program you can do this as part of your course, alternatively, you will need to defer study for 12 months to conduct this internship.
