About the role
As the HSPO Business Planning and Communications Intern with GM Australia & New Zealand, you’ll gain a diverse range of corporate experience, marketability and exposure to the exciting, fast paced automotive industry.
The primary purpose of this role includes developing an understanding in warehousing principles, management of business data, occupational health and safety in the workplace, interaction with people, project management and communication skills. You will provide support to the warehouse team with labour planning/tracking and metric reporting.
Your responsibilities include:

Manpower tracking and reporting
-
Metric consolidation and reporting for local, regional and global leadership

Project coordination for continuous improvement solutions/initiatives that cannot be implemented by the supervisor alone.

Assist in highlighting and addressing occupational health and safety issues as they arise in projects responsible for managing.

Communicating and engaging different levels in the organisation where there is a process change they are responsible for managing.

Assist with the development and implement standard operating procedures and ensure they are adhered to for standard work processes, taking steps to modify them where necessary.

Understand and promote GMS principles and manage plant self-assessment data.

Management and generation of productivity measures within the warehouse.

Creating simple data reports for operations under instruction of the systems process analyst.

Verifying system generated daily reporting jobs are run and emailed to recipients.

Inventory control data management and reporting.

Fortnightly communications sessions and Workplace of Choice activities.

Maintain and facilitate NDC shopping carts and purchase orders.

Facilitate Business Plan Deployment meetings and maintain charts.

About you
You’re an enthusiastic individual with a desire to learn. You are currently completing a relevant undergraduate degree (Commerce/Business Degree majoring in International Business, Communications, Supply Chain Management, Occupational Health and Safety, International Trade, Human Resources, engineering or related disciplines). You must have a minimum of two semesters remaining (post internship in 2026).
