The Role:

The S&S Organization is seeking Software Integration Managers for Infotainment Software on the VCU and CCU platforms. As a Software Integration Manager you will be accountable and responsible for delivering on-time software that is tested, integrated, and meeting customer expectations. You will be responsible to drive issues to closure, understand the readiness of the software build, conduct look across, and drive closed loop learnings.

Responsibilities include developing and leading the VCU and/or CCU software development, build and release strategies, validation, and closed loop integration. There are daily interactions with large groups of people, management, and senior leadership where you will be advising, updating, and communicating status on key items, achievements, and issues. What You’ll do:

  • Manage the planning of VCU/CCU Software Releases, coordinating merge of software changes and features into a build the following verify/release activities.
  • Experience in issue management, triage, and indirectly leading cross functional teams
  • Stay abreast of new technology and competitive products
  • Learn and participate in multiple aspects of the GVDP from IVER Readiness Reviews to Buy Off Rides and Launch support
  • Implement and maintain the development schedule that ensures software is delivered on time and tested, integrated, and meeting customer expectations while also maintaining fidelity lists of features not complete
  • Prepare, present, and/or support regular software status updates to various teams
  • Help breakdown potential issues and provide appropriate support while escalation as needed
  • Coordinate with the SDV PMs, Software Product Owners, Software Quality and Vehicle Program Teams
  • Travel within Michigan, US, and International may occur
  • Prioritize & participate in requirements peer reviews and software Change Review Boards

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • 7+ years of related experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Systems, Automotive, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Computer), Business Administration, Finance, or equivalent. Software experience is preferred
  • Must have experience with JIRA
  • Establish both local and global relationships with team members to resolve any obstacles that arise
  • Ability to balance multiple complex projects and assignments with a high degree of autonomy and accountability for results
  • Strong organizational skills, process oriented
  • Comfortable with using creativity accomplishing tasks and goals. Knowledge of electrical and electronic circuit operation and automotive hardware interfaces
  • Knowledge of Vehicle Development Process timing and key engineering achievements
  • Previous experience in Product Development (Example: Systems Engineering, Safety System Eng, Validation, Quality, SQE, Design, Release Eng, or Manufacturing Eng, etc.)
  • Resounding public speaking capability for large audiences both in-person and virtually

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Skills)

  • 10+years of related experience
  • Familiarity with software development tools such as JIRA, GITHUB, Jenkins, Artifactory, etc
  • Master's degree in engineering related field of study
  • Understanding of industry standards including Autosar, CAN, LIN, and automotive Ethernet
  • Understanding of Embedded Software Development (Linux, QNX, etc)
  • Black Belt DFSS Certification
  • Project Management Professional certification
