Workplace Status:

Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be onsite full-time, but the general expectation is that the employee will be onsite a minimum of 3 days each week. 

The Role:
In the ever-growing landscape of security challenges that come with digital vehicles, successful automotive Cybersecurity feature execution is critical.

The Senior Deployment Engineer will support execution of cybersecurity elements across global vehicle programs and multiple model years. The Senior Deployment Engineer will gather and analyze electronic control unit implementation plans, communicate with a large body of component owners and program teams, and synthesize information for leadership. In this role, you will drive change, communicate requirements, and track critical dependencies for successful launch of cybersecurity features.

What You’ll Do:

  • Coordinate with all impacted component owner teams.
  • Communicate with all impacted program teams.
  • Gather component plans and critical dependencies for implementation on a regular basis.
  • Understand component capabilities and tailor security requirements to address sourcing requests.
  • Synthesize information into weekly report for leadership and working team.
  • Create and manage a roadmap for assigned controllers that is in sync with the program timelines.
  • Lead change management of impacted programs.
  • Answer front line questions from program teams and electrical teams.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of cybersecurity principles and elements.
  • Communicate status through monthly leadership meetings.
  • Facilitate various component design and implementation reviews with internal and external teams.
  • Coordinate with validation efforts to ensure on-time execution.
  • Manage multiple projects with broad scope, ambiguity, and high degree of difficulty.
  • Remain knowledgeable of relevant trends, technologies, and best practices for securing embedded control systems.

What You'll Need (Required Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or other relevant discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in all aspects of design and development of automotive embedded systems, their application and integration in vehicle design.
  • Working knowledge of major automotive subsystems.
  • Working knowledge of vehicle software integration, data dictionary strategy, and release strategy.
  • Working knowledge of ECU sourcing strategies and cost estimation principles.

People Skills:

  • Ability to make decisions and recommendations while taking into account appropriate tradeoffs between conflicting objectives.
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and make decisions/recommendations with limited data.
  • Solid analytical/problem solving skills with capability to identify solutions to unusual and complex problems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to lead diverse/cross-functional teams, as well as mentor, motivate, and elicit work output from peers and other team members.
  • Effective communicator with solid oral and written presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
