This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren – GM Global Technical Center three times per week, at minimum or other frequency dictated by the business.

The Program Cost Management Analyst (PCMA) supports future program business cases by managing the material and vendor tooling cost estimates for their assigned program team.  The PCMA serves as the primary liaison between the engineering program team, PD Finance, purchasing and the PPCO organization. The PCMA position requires exceptional leadership skills and a strong aptitude for project management. The role involves exercising independent judgment, initiative, and creativity while overseeing multiple projects focused on developing and articulating program costs. Overall, the PCMA plays a crucial role in driving efficient program cost management and fostering effective collaboration and communication between the program team and the PPCO organization.

What You'll Do

  • Program facing role acting as the interface between the PPCO team and cross functional program team

  • Responsible for development, maintenance and tracking of material and vendor tooling cost books as the vehicle program progresses through the GVDP

  • Interface with SMT Analysts, Cost Engineers and other PPCO team members to understand and develop a robust material and vendor tooling cost book

  • Ensure alignment with Plan of Record

  • Development and tracking of Program Lifecycle Average Material cost

  • Leading and/or Supporting discussions and inputs for Target Allocation, Gap Closure

  • Develop, track and report financial Risks and Opportunities for the program

  • Alignment and reporting of progress of cost reduction commitments

  • Actively participate and support profitability analysis and cost reduction studies

  • Communicate performance and key drivers regularly via reporting and cost reviews

  • Provide support and explanation for cost book variances

  • Develop and submit GVDP Gate deliverables to support the program business case and senior leadership presentations

  • Alignment and pre-review with GPSC/PPCO leadership on program status at various intervals, gates and VPE reviews

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field

  • 3+ years of financial analysis or product development

  • Demonstrated ability to use all Microsoft Office Software and show an expertise in MS Excel

  • Experience with using Database Systems

  • Ability to manage and lead complex projects and assignments with a high level of autonomy and accountability for results

  • Ability to lead change, resolve conflicts, and influence without direct authority

  • Ability to assimilate a large amount of cost data and clearly condense / communicate information to the larger GM team in an efficient way

  • Analytical ability to solve problems that are unique and sometimes complex.  Ability to use data driven analysis to identify solutions, establish next steps to assigned projects, and manage open items is crucial

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills required to build relationships with global team members and cross functional peers

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

  • A Graduate degree in Business Administration (MBA), Technical Management, or Engineering is a plus.
