Work Arrangement: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the office three times per week or other frequency dictated by the business. 

The Role
Infotainment Services team is responsible for Back Office services pertaining to Infotainment, enabling Sirius XM subscription for GM vehicles with a vision to provide seamless experience to customers in regard to infotainment and subscriptions.

The team is responsible for the Infotainment backend platform, which manages executions, delivery, and monitoring capabilities for operations.

What You’ll Do
 

  • Understand complex technical platform through independent analysis, provide new ideas and solutions for enhancing the platform.
  • Understand business requirements and architectural solutions, able to come up with detailed technical design that involves database schema design, flow sequences, interface and API specifications between different components.
  • Breaks down business features into stories with required technical and business details and come up with realistic estimates for stories and features.
  • Document detailed design for the team to understand and follow during implementation.
  • Advocates non-functional requirements needed by the platform like code quality, code coverage, performance, scalability, security, etc. to the team, takes lead on peer reviews / pull requests of source code and be the gatekeeper for the team ensuring the standards are met.
  • Drives the team development processes & technical standards and takes ownership on implementation / compliance of processes & technical standards for the team.
  • Technically savvy to know the technical trends, advocates industry best practices for development lifecycle and consistently drives improvements for the team.
  • Collaborates very well within the dev team, Product management team, architecture team, other stake holders and user community for understanding and deriving solutions that work.
  • Design, implement and deliver high quality technical solutions on time for
    business problems by gathering all the necessary details needed from different stake holders.
  • Helps / guide / mentor other team members in their day-to-day activities and plays a key role for the team to meet their commitments.
  • Has broad & intense knowledge of the platform, able to do impact analysis  of changes, drives the integration of different components in the system between cross functional scrum teams.

Your Skills & Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in software development in complex platforms, preferably in a cloud-native environment.
  • Strong understanding of microservices, RESTAPIs and event driven architecture and performance optimization techniques.
  • Hands on in developing JAVA & Springboot-based components.
  • Experience with JAVA, Spring boot & related tech stack, Spring Cloud,
    REST, KAFKA, JMS, ORACLE, POSTGRES
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate
    effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in core technologies of software engineering, so
    they may effectively assess the quality of contributions.
  • Strong understanding of software development process and best practices.
  • Strong technical communication abilities (verbal and written).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to
    detail.

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Experience developing microservices.
  • Solid understanding of cloud computing concepts and experience with cloud platforms like Cloud Foundry, Azure.

Compensation : The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington.  

  • The salary range for this role is $109,000 to $196,000. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position. 

  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
