The Role:
The Mechatronic Software Platform Organization leads a mission to create a robust mechatronic software infrastructure which will enable GM to deliver features and functions that will excite and delight our customers. As a New Architecture Technical Specialist in the SDV2.0 execution team, you will be responsible for working with software integration leads and
controller integration engineers to integrate application code and HWIO to bring up new controllers and microprocessors. You will interact
with suppliers to operationalize benches and virtual test beds, debugging and resolving issues along the way. You will work to generate
technical solutions for new architectures as well as provide technical leadership to coordinate the efforts of multiple engineering teams
working in virtual and physical environments. Your input will be key in prioritizing the work of multiple individual contributors on the team. As
a part of SDV2.0 Software Execution Team, you will have the opportunity to work on state-of-the-art systems and designs in a rich and results oriented
team environment.

Responsibilities
-
Serve as the technical lead of a team of highly skilled engineers working to integrate application code and HWIO on new controllers and microprocessors.

Lead and define software strategy for multiple builds in the microcontroller farm.

Generate technical solutions for new architectures.
-
Develop and perform complex software design analysis.
-
Demonstrate software functionality and readiness.
-
Coordinate with other software development teams in the larger SDV organization.

Support agile principles and practices, identifying and eliminating impediments.
-
Work with tools teams to implement the continuous integration continuous deployment “machine” that will generate nightly builds for the enterprise to evaluate.

Lead root cause and debugging of build related issues.

Negotiate software release schedule and content.
-
Facilitate the bring up and debugging of instrumentation.
-
Manage build delivery and validation of build quality.
-
Build relationships and work closely with functional peers across the organization to align team towards common objectives.

Cultivate a collaborative environment irrespective of structural and organizational barriers.

Proactively champion the early adoption of tools and new processes.

Requirements
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or Physics.
-
7+ years of embedded software development.
-
Experience with embedded software development and debugging tools.
-
Strong knowledge of C and C++ programming languages.
-
Experience with Embedded Real-Time Operating systems (i.e. OSEK, RTOS).
-
Experience in AUTOSAR software constructs and their implementation.
-
Experience in MCAL and HWIO implementations.
-
Knowledge of the GM Software development environment.
-
Experience with instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
-
Demonstrated experience leading change. This includes identifying needed change, as well as championing change.

Understanding of Lean/Agile principles as they apply to software development, testing and associated tools.

Understanding of GVDP and program execution deliverables.
-
Demonstrated high level of analytical ability, communication, and interpersonal skills.
-
Ability to communicate complex issues to leaders for alignment and efficient escalation.
-
Capability to manage multiple projects and assignments with high level of autonomy and high accountability for results.
Desired Skills
-
10+ years of technical knowledge and ability in relevant engineering disciplines (e.g. Software, Calibration, Controls, Tools Development).

Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or Physics.

Understanding of Functional Safety.
-
Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems.
-
Knowledge and experience with cybersecurity (secure messaging, secure boot, secure debugging).
-
In-depth knowledge of requirements engineering process (FMEA, Preliminary Hazard Analyses, Model Based System Engineering).
-
Experience or knowledge of relevant tools (e.g.: Matlab, Simulink, Vector, Intrepid, Rhapsody, GIT, Gears, Doors, Jira, ADO, RTC, etc.)
-
Prior or active “Leading SAFe®” training and “Agilist” certification for Scaled Agile Framework®.
-
Experience with Vehicle Electrical Architecture’s standards (i.e. ISO 14229, Cybersecurity, Ethernet, CAN).

Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
