About the Group:

The vehicle camera team  is developing and deploying multiple technologies that are interacting with the driver through the infotainment displays and providing guidance and visibility through the vehicle vision system, with wide variety of surrounding peripheral cameras.  

Those technologies are being deployed and in production for growing amount of vehicle programs and have carry critical functionality that support GM vehicle shipment, including safety compliance functionalities.

What will YOU do?

• Be responsible for full software development life cycle of C++ image processing applications.

• Contribute to the development of C++ image processing applications, solving complex design problems, optimizing software modules, ensuring clean, reusable, and scalable code solutions.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

The Autonomous Vehicle (AV) Product Management organization is responsible for defining and delivering GM’s autonomous driving roadmap—from near‑term customer value to long‑term eyes‑off autonomy at scale. The Role

We are looking for a Staff Product Manager to help lead complexity and cost‑reduction initiatives across GM’s Autonomous Driving portfolio. As a Staff ML Infra Engineer on the Offboard Perception team within the Embodied AI organization, you will be a senior engineer responsible for developing and deploying offboard machine learning solutions that deliver ground-truth–quality world estimates for multiple partner teams, including onboard model teams, simulation, and evaluation. The models you build will influence every stage of autonomous vehicle development—from training and validation to testing and safety. You will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams, help shape technical direction in your domain, and support other engineers' growth through collaboration and mentorship. You will also help transition research into scalable onboard ML capabilities while continuously improving the autonomy stack.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and maintain ML infrastructure that enables rapid development, training, evaluation, and deployment of offboard perception models.

Do you want to investigate and solve software and control system problems encountered in our products; and do you enjoy helping people encountering issues and enabling them to make progress? In this role as a Controller Integration Engineer, you will do that by troubleshooting HIL, vehicle system bench and vehicle integration issues using system engineering knowledge to isolate causes, establishing root cause and potential solutions working with BSW, calibration, software, Pre-Production Operations, vehicle plant and product development teams. These solutions can involve hardware, software, calibration, wiring or electrical architecture.

This role is part of a group responsible for vehicle embedded control system engineering with a primary focus on troubleshooting engine, transmission, hybrid, electrification, chassis, and intelligent brake control system issues through all the different life cycle stages (early development through launch and through end of production) on the full range of GM vehicles from BEVs and Autonomous vehicles to conventional propulsion and high-performance vehicles. You will work closely with our internal development teams including manufacturing, controls development, software, calibration and testing activities, as well as other cross functional teams in tackling a wide variety of issues as they arise and plotting the best path towards resolution.  As you grow in the team, invention of more efficient ways to collect and analyze data is highly encouraged.  This position will push your creativity and teamwork skills as there is very little “standard work” in this space but together we can ensure all GM programs and launches are On-Time and have high Quality.

• Technical vehicle system troubleshooting, which includes thoroughly tracing and correcting faults in vehicle mechatronic embedded control systems (i.e., issues/faults that preclude the expected operation and performance of vehicles and the subsequent resolution of those problems).

As the Tech Lead Manager for the Rendering Infrastructure team within Simulation, you will be both the senior technical leader and the people manager for a small, high-leverage group of engineers. The team owns the foundational systems that the broader Rendering team builds on top of — asset pipelines, GPU memory and resource management, acceleration structure construction, build and developer tooling, profiling infrastructure, and the core engine abstractions that power our GPU-accelerated, physics-based sensor simulation system. This is an explicitly hybrid role: you will set technical direction, drive the hardest architectural decisions, write and review meaningful amounts of code, and mentor engineers — while also owning the team's roadmap, hiring, growth, and delivery. We expect you to remain a strong, current contributor in C++/CUDA and rendering systems; this is not a role where you stop being an engineer. You will partner with the rest of Rendering and Simulation leadership to make sure the infrastructure scales with the fidelity, scene complexity, and throughput demands of autonomous vehicle development.

What You'll Do

This role is roughly half hands-on technical leadership and half people management. The exact split will flex with team size and project phase, but you should expect to spend significant time both in the codebase and in 1:1s.

**As a tech lead and senior engineer, you will:**

- Own the technical direction of the Rendering Infrastructure stack — driving architecture across asset ingestion, GPU memory and resource management, acceleration structure construction, profiling infrastructure, and core engine APIs.

- Write and review meaningful amounts of C++ and CUDA code, including the hardest or most cross-cutting pieces of work that benefit from your context and seniority.

- Own the Rendering Infrastructure roadmap: gather inputs from partner teams, prioritize ruthlessly, and translate strategy into concrete quarterly plans and well-scoped projects.

- Recruit and hire engineers — owning sourcing strategy, interview loops, and closing — to build out the team thoughtfully.

Your Skills & Abilities

- BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Graphics, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

- 7+ years of professional C++ development experience, with deep knowledge of modern C++ (C++17/20), memory management, and performance optimization — and the ability and willingness to keep contributing code at a senior level.

- Significant hands-on experience with GPU programming (CUDA, OptiX, Vulkan, or similar) and a working understanding of GPU architecture and execution models.

- Proven track record working on rendering systems, game engines, simulation platforms, or other performance-critical real-time graphics/systems software — as an IC, not only as a manager.

Company Vehicle

Upon successful completion of a motor vehicle report review, you will be eligible to participate in a company vehicle evaluation program, through which you will be assigned a General Motors vehicle to drive and evaluate. The Role:

The VDSE Chassis Staff Feature Strategist is a key technical leader within the Vehicle Dynamics and Chassis Controls organization, responsible for overseeing development and release of vehicle dynamics state estimation (VDSE) features across multiple vehicle programs. This role ensures that VDSE content is planned, integrated, calibrated, verified, and delivered with high quality, in alignment with GM’s VIP and SDV architecture, program milestones, and customer performance targets.  In this role you will work cross-functionally with other Feature Strategists, and the VDSE SW team, calibrators, and calibration TS to provide a single, domain-focused voice for VDSE strategy and execution.

As a VDSE Staff Feature Strategist you will:

• Develop and maintain a calibration/integration plan for VDSE features that meets program and architecture deliverables, working with the ETL and other chassis controls feature strategists to understand and reflect the product roadmap.

• Document and own key deliverable dates for each program (e.g., 65% calibration due date, calibration review due date, verification completion) and keep the broader team aligned to those milestones.

• Track when relevant software content will be released to support the integration plan and communicate to the calibration team and VDSE calibration TS.

• Own the rollout strategy for new VDSE features into development or production programs

• Coordinate with the VDSE TS, calibrators, and SW team for rollout of any changes needed to address development or production PRTS, including development of the verification and deployment plan.

• Monitor upcoming calibration and feature changes in other functional areas and cascade this information and timing to the VDSE TS and calibration team.

• Provide clear feature/function deliverables to the calibration team, including defining and maintaining VDSE performance metrics.

• Develop and own verification plans for VDSE features, ensuring coverage of metrics, cross‑feature interactions, and program‑specific use cases.

• Prepare and present VDSE function‑specific status and issue summaries, clearly articulating risks, mitigation plans, and decision needs.

What you will do

You will be the group’s subject-matter expert for semiconductors and compute platforms , with a focus on SoCs, MCUs, memory subsystems, and associated board-level and platform software technologies for automotive ECUs, infotainment systems, and centralized/automated driving compute platforms. As a Staff Researcher, you are expected to define, propose, and develop research projects in alignment with GM R&D’s strategy and priorities, and to clearly define, communicate and demonstrate the value your work creates for GM and our customers.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead semiconductor-focused research projects that influence GM’s electrical and software architecture roadmaps (central compute, zonal ECUs, domain controllers, edge nodes, infotainment, and automated driving compute platforms).
• Design and implement proof-of-concept prototypes on our R&D lab benches , using evaluation platforms and representative in-vehicle architecture benches to validate concepts before transfer to product teams.

• Experience with security and safety architectures at the hardware/platform level (e.g., secure boot, key storage, redundancy, fault containment).

The Role

General Motors is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engine Performance and Calibration 3D CFD Analyst to join our Engine Performance and Calibration team. This role is critical in shaping the future of internal combustion engine (ICE) technology through high-fidelity computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in engine combustion modeling, fuel injection systems, and emissions control, and will contribute to the design and optimization of next-generation gasoline and diesel combustion chambers.

What You'll Do

• Design and optimize combustion chamber geometries for improved efficiency, power output, and emissions performance.
• Simulate and interpret combustion processes, heat transfer, cold start behavior, and catalyst heating strategies.
• Provide component-level and/or system-level design recommendations to Design Responsible Engineers based on interpretation of analysis results
• Exercise analytical models for fuel preparation and mixture motion analysis including equivalence ratio and wall wetting
• Model and analyze fuel injector behavior, spray atomization, spray-wall interaction, and mixture preparation.
• Exercise analytical models for in-cylinder combustion analysis using 3D CFD codes such as Star-CD, Converge, AVL-Fire, or in-house proprietary software 
• Enhance current standard analysis practices and/or tools to improve prediction fidelity and/or execution speed
• Participate in product design and development teams and regularly present analysis results to engineering peers and management
• Document analysis objectives, conclusions, results, and assumptions using a standard report template
• Cooperatively work with test engineers to enhance laboratory procedures to support the development of first-time capable analysis techniques
• Stays abreast of new technology and competitive products
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engine design, calibration, controls, and emissions compliance.
• Validate simulation results with experimental data and iterate designs accordingly.
• Document and present findings to technical leadership and project stakeholders.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

• 5+ years experience with compressible CFD analysis of powertrain-related systems
• BS in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related field with a focus on internal combustion engines or fluid dynamics
• 3+ years experience in CFD software (CONVERGE, STAR-CD, STAR-CCM+ ICS or similar) for gasoline or diesel mixture preparation / combustion simulation
• Highly proficient with ProStar, ICEM, Hypermesh, Tgrid, or equivalent CFD meshing software
• Highly proficient with Converge, Siemens CCM+ In-Cylinder Solution, StarCD, AVL Fire, or equivalent CFD software
• Highly proficient with Ensight, ProStar or equivalent CFD post-processing software
