Assistant Manager - Medium Duty Marketing and Sales


Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively.  The employee’s role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired.

- This position requires an employee to be onsite 1-4 x per year

The primary purpose of this GM Fleet position is to support our market presence for Silverado 4500 HD, 5500 HD, 6500 HD and Low Cab Forward (LCF).   Primary focus is on growing the Chevrolet Medium Duty business while directly contributing to Retail, Fleet and Government sales performance.  Job responsibilities include understanding the customer and segment dynamics, identifying market trends, and supporting sales operations.  This position reports to the Manager, Business Elite and Medium Duty Marketing & Sales

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team supporting General Motors Fleet and deals with several facets of the Medium Duty and Commercial Dealer Business including the following:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and support Medium Duty and LCF go-to-market strategies

  • Assist with strategies for Medium Duty dealer representation & market presence

  • Collaborate in a “One Team” approach with teams from Medium Duty Sales, Product, Chevrolet Commercial, Business Elite and GM Fleet to drive Medium Duty business results

  • Assist in day-to-day operations and special projects

  • Collaborate with the GM Center of Learning to strengthen Medium Duty and Commercial training for Wholesale and Dealer Teams

  • Provide support for the Medium Duty, Commercial and Fleet Account Executive Field teams

  • Analyze market performance and competitive comparisons while anticipating future business needs

  • Develop sales and business performance reviews on key business metrics  

  • Create analytics to ensure Medium Duty Dealer compliance with Dealer Participation Agreement

  • Communications with Regional Field Teams and Finance on incentive strategies and execution

  • Manage GM Fleet’s Medium Duty marketing fleet to support shows and events

  • Ensure all consumer communications, dealer communications and training materials are messaged effectively and include correct information

Additional Description

Role Qualifications

  • 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related areas (Required)

  • Ability to multi-task and manage projects independently

  • Strong analytical ability

  • High level of expertise in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

  • Developed presentation skills both in the development and delivery of presentations

  • Field and Dealer contact experience preferred

  • Previous marketing, sales operations and forecasting experience

  • Limited business travel as required

  • Ability to learn and develop product knowledge on these highly unique commercial products
